Job summary

Resillion is seeking a Senior Automation Test Engineer with 7-9 years of quality engineering experience. You will design scalable automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript for UI and API testing, mentor team members, and champion AI-assisted testing practices to improve delivery quality and efficiency.

You will lead automation integration within CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with developers, architects, product owners, and Test Managers to define quality strategies.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Test Engineer with 7-9 years of quality engineering experience and strong expertise in Playwright and TypeScript. This role will focus on designing scalable automation frameworks, driving test strategy, mentoring team members, and championing AI-assisted testing practices to improve overall delivery quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript for UI and API testing.
• Define automation standards, framework architecture, coding guidelines, and reusable automation components.
• Develop comprehensive UI, API, integration, and end-to-end automated test coverage.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices using GitHub Copilot, Playwright MCP Server, and prompt engineering techniques.
• Create reusable AI prompting standards, guardrails, and documentation to improve automation productivity.
• Analyse, troubleshoot, and eliminate flaky tests through root cause analysis and automation best practices.
• Lead automation integration within CI/CD pipelines, ensuring stable, reliable, and scalable execution.
• Mentor junior and mid-level automation engineers and support technical upskilling within the QA team.
• Collaborate closely with developers, architects, product owners, and Test Managers to define quality strategies.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, executions, and defects through test management tools.
• Provide automation status updates, quality metrics, and risk assessments to leadership and key stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7-9 years of experience in software testing and automation engineering.
• Strong expertise in Playwright and TypeScript automation framework development.
• Extensive experience in REST API automation, authentication testing (OAuth/JWT), and schema validation.
• Practical experience with GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted coding platforms.
• Experience working with Playwright MCP Server or a strong interest in agentic AI testing solutions.
• Deep understanding of automation design patterns, framework architecture, and automation best practices.
• Strong experience with Git workflows, code reviews, and Node.js ecosystem tools.
• Solid experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or comparable tools.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and mentoring skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with MCP-based AI agents, Copilot Agent Mode, or other AI testing solutions.
• Knowledge of contract testing, mocking, stubbing, and test data orchestration.
• Experience implementing accessibility automation and visual regression testing.
• Exposure to performance testing tools such as k6.
• Experience presenting quality metrics and automation roadmaps to business stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Jira, Xray, or similar test management platforms.
