Job summary

India Private Limited seeks a Senior Engineer to design, integrate, and optimize platform software for next-generation SoC platforms. You will contribute to bring-up, subsystem integration, and performance improvements across Linux, Android, Zephyr, and RTOS ecosystems.

You will work with cross-functional teams on debugging, profiling, and AI-enabled system enhancements, while mentoring juniors and driving engineering productivity initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience in embedded systems, BSP, RTOS, Linux, Android, Zephyr, FreeRTOS, firmware, kernel, or platform software development.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++.
• Experience with system-level debugging, performance analysis, and software integration.
• Understanding of modern SoC architectures and subsystem interactions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate platform software across Linux, Android, Zephyr, FreeRTOS, firmware, middleware, and subsystem interfaces.
• Support platform bring-up, feature enablement, and software readiness for new silicon programs.
• Investigate and resolve complex issues spanning hardware, firmware, kernel, middleware, and application layers.
• Analyze and optimize system behavior across power, performance, memory, thermal, reliability, and user experience dimensions.
• Diagnose issues involving CPU, DSP, GPU, memory, storage, clocks, regulators, thermal management, and connectivity subsystems.
• Collaborate with silicon, firmware, validation, and software teams to deliver high-quality platform solutions.
• Drive customer issue investigations from problem identification through root-cause analysis and resolution.
• Contribute to automation, observability, and engineering productivity initiatives.

The successful candidate will contribute to platform bring-up, subsystem integration, performance optimization, customer issue resolution, and product commercialization while working closely with cross-functional engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate platform software across Linux, Android, Zephyr, FreeRTOS, firmware, middleware, and subsystem interfaces.
• Support platform bring-up, feature enablement, and software readiness for new silicon programs.

Technical Leadership

• Drive technical execution within assigned platform and subsystem domains.
• Apply structured debugging techniques including instrumentation, tracing, failure reproduction, cross-system correlation, and root-cause isolation.
• Utilize profiling and observability tools to identify bottlenecks and validate optimizations.
• Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, and technical problem solving.
• Contribute to technical decisions involving performance, power, reliability, cost, and schedule trade-offs.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote software quality and debugging best practices.
• Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development efficiency and engineering productivity.

Program Execution

• Own execution of assigned features and technical deliverables.
• Support milestone planning, risk identification, and issue tracking.
• Drive closure of critical software defects impacting product readiness.
• Support product validation, characterization, and performance analysis activities.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to meet schedule and quality goals.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

• Participate in customer debugging sessions and technical reviews.
• Support analysis and resolution of customer-reported issues and escalations.
• Communicate technical status, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
• Work closely with architects, program managers, and engineering teams to ensure successful execution.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience in embedded systems, BSP, RTOS, Linux, Android, Zephyr, FreeRTOS, firmware, kernel, or platform software development.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++.
• Experience with system-level debugging, performance analysis, and software integration.
• Understanding of modern SoC architectures and subsystem interactions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Linux, Android, Zephyr, FreeRTOS, DSP, GPU, modem, connectivity, PMIC, power management, and AI accelerator subsystems.
• Experience with platform bring-up, subsystem integration, performance tuning, crash analysis, and reliability engineering.
• Familiarity with system profiling, tracing, observability, and debug tools.
• Understanding of system-level trade-offs across power, performance, memory, thermal, and user experience metrics.
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude Code, Claude CLI, GitHub Copilot, MCP agents, and related workflows.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
