Job summary

Qualcomm India Private Limited in Bengaluru is seeking a hands-on technical leader to drive platform software architecture, execution, customer engagements, and team development for next-generation SoC platforms.

You will own critical platform software components including bootloaders, BSP, RTOS, middleware, and developer frameworks, and lead engineers from silicon bring-up through product deployment with a strong focus on performance, power, and security.

Qualifications

• 11+ years of embedded software/firmware/platform experience.
• Expert-level in C/C++ with strong debugging skills.
• Experience with Zephyr, FreeRTOS or Embedded Linux.
• Deep understanding of RTOS internals, BSPs, device drivers & boot
• Proven ability delivering products from silicon bring-up to production.
• Strong customer-facing communication and hands-on leadership.

General Summary

Platform Software & Embedded Systems

Location: Bangalore, India

We are looking for a hands-on technical leader to drive platform software architecture, execution, customer engagements, and team development for next-generation SoC platforms.

This role requires deep expertise in embedded systems, strong architectural judgment, and the ability to lead engineers while remaining close to the technology. The successful candidate will own critical platform software components and drive technical decisions from silicon bring-up through product commercialization.

Responsibilities

Platform Architecture & Ownership

• Define software architecture for new SoC and platform programs.
• Own platform software spanning bootloaders, BSP, RTOS, middleware, system services, and developer frameworks.
• Drive architecture decisions balancing performance, power, reliability, security, and scalability.
• Influence hardware/software partitioning and long-term platform roadmap.

Technical Leadership

• Lead resolution of complex system-level issues spanning silicon, firmware, BSP, RTOS, middleware, and platform infrastructure.
• Drive architecture and implementation of:
• Multi-core and heterogeneous compute systems
• Big.Little architectures and workload partitioning
• Power management, DVFS, sleep states, and runtime power optimization
• Clock, reset, interrupt, timer, and power domain frameworks
• Memory architecture including DDR, PSRAM, XIP, DMA, MPU/MMU, cache management, and coherency
• Boot architecture, image loading, secure boot, subsystem startup, and recovery mechanisms
• IPC frameworks, shared memory communication, subsystem management, SSR, and ramdump infrastructure
• Platform security, memory protection, and system isolation mechanisms
• Silicon enablement, board bring-up, and platform stabilization
• Drive performance, power, memory, stability, and reliability optimization across the platform.

Qualifications

• 11+ years of experience in embedded software, firmware, BSP, or platform software development.
• Expert-level proficiency in C/C++.
• Strong experience with Zephyr, FreeRTOS, Embedded Linux, or similar environments.
• Deep understanding of:
• RTOS internals
• BSP architecture
• Device drivers
• Boot architectures
• Memory subsystems
• Power management frameworks
• Multi-core system design
• IPC and subsystem frameworks
• Silicon bring-up and productization
• Proven experience delivering products from silicon bring-up through production.
• Strong debugging skills across hardware and software boundaries.
• Experience managing engineers while remaining technically hands-on.
• Strong customer-facing communication and leadership skills.
• Proficient in leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate development and improve efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
