Job summary

Hyosung T&D India Pvt Ltd in Pune is seeking a Senior Engineer - System Engineering Power System Engineer with 5–10 years of experience to work on FACTS/HVDC projects.

You will model and validate PSCAD/RTDS/RSCAD simulations, perform contingency studies, and coordinate with clients and consultants to deliver STATCOM/SVC/HVDC solutions.

This role requires strong English communication, teamwork, and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a turnkey power systems environment.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years experience in STATCOM/SVC/HVDC/FACTS/Substation field
• Master’s degree in Power System - Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Knowledge of power grid market & FACTS product & system offerings
• Strong verbal and written communication in English
• Ability to work under stringent timelines
• Team player and capable of handling jobs on set timeline

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of FACTS/STATCOM/HVDC station operation behaviour
• Modeling and validation in PSCAD for large grid and FACTS devices
• PSCAD modelling of R/L/C, HVDC, SVC and FACT controllers
• Contingency studies of AC networks and relay coordination
• Design and coordination of FACTS/HVDC controller parameters
• PSCAD to RSCAD conversions and validation
• PSS/E to PSCAD/RSCAD conversions and validation

Job Description

• Knowledge of overall FACTS/STATCOM/HVDC station operation behaviour and effects on Power System.
• Hands on experience in PSCAD software modelling, simulation, design validation etc. of large size grid and FACTS devices.
• Experience in PSCAD of modelling of Resistors, Inductors, Capacitors, Frequency dependent lines, Current & Voltage sources, Power Electronics devices, Analogy & Digital Control functions, Meters and Measuring functions, HVDC, SVC and Other FACT controllers etc.
• Contingency studies of AC networks, relay coordination, Insulation Coordination study, Sub synchronous resonance studies of networks with machines, transmission line, HVDC system.
• Control system design and coordination of FACTS and HVDC; including STATCOM, VSC, and cycloconverters, Optimal design of controller parameters.
• PSCAD to RSCAD conversion, verification and validation.
• PSS/E to PSCAD/RSCAD conversion, verification and validation.
• Plant modelling in PSCAD, RSCAD and verification of FACTS & HVDC.
• Hands on experience on RTDS Simulation of Closed Loop Control System.
