Job summary

WSP India seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the delivery of protection and control engineering for high-voltage substations up to 400kV. You will provide technical oversight for protection philosophies, schematics, and interlocking, and you will design AC/DC systems, battery sizing, and SAS interfaces including IEC 61850, SCADA, RTU, and telecom interfaces.

The role requires at least 7 years in electrical design, strong communication, and the ability to work with minimal supervision

Job Description:

Evaluates, selects and applies standard techniques and procedures to perform engineering assignments. Prepares project documentation within one’s scope of deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of Secondary / Protection & Control engineering for EHV/HV/MV substations (up to 400kV) across transmission, distribution, generation, and asset replacement projects.
• Provide technical oversight and approval for key deliverables including:
  • Protection philosophies and schemes (Feeder, Transformer, Busbar, Breaker Failure, Line, Generator, etc.)
  • Protection & Control schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel GA drawings
  • AC/DC system design, battery sizing, and distribution
  • Substation Automation Systems (SAS) including IEC 61850, SCADA, RTU, and telecom interfaces
  • Cause & Effect diagrams, interlocking logic, signal lists, and cable schedules
• Ensure completeness and functional integrity of assigned work packages and secondary systems.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering Degree from an accredited institution.
• AutoCAD and Revit exposure is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years experience in electrical design.
• Ability to work with a minimum of instructions and complete tasks independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programs.
• Must possess a team player attitude.
