Job summary

WSP India is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and deliver electrical power systems for diverse energy projects, including renewables and transmission, within a multi-discipline team. You will coordinate designs, support pursuits with estimates, and ensure compliance with codes and WSP policies.

The role requires a master's in electrical engineering and hands-on design experience with substation projects, with strong collaboration and documentation practices. BGv clearance applies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent required.
• Experience with electrical substation design and T&D projects preferred.
• Familiarity with codes and standards and quality processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee electrical power systems studies using ETAP, SKM, PSS/E, ASPEN and other software programs as may be necessary to support the design and interconnection coordination processes.
• Delivery of accurate and thorough designs that will meet industry standards and specifications, and meet good engineering practice with excellent constructability.
• Review of internal and external designs for code compliance, good design practice and constructability.
• Resolving site queries during the construction phase of projects.
• Maintaining complete project documentation with respect to substation design and construction, including all completion packages, as-built requirements and return data information.
• Making and maintaining appropriate commitments to project teams and coordinating design activities with multi-disciplined project team members.
• Maintaining good working relationships with internal groups that support projects.
• Maintaining good working relationships with material suppliers, contractors, and any others that affect the quality, schedule and cost of projects.
• Mentoring and providing guidance to developing engineers within the department.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Job Description

This role is within WSP's Energy Business line and will support all types of Energy projects including renewable energy (wind, solar and energy storage), underground energy storage, and transmission and distribution substation and overlead lines projects.

The successful candidate is required to work within a multi-discipline team to design efficient and reliable electrical substations, transmission lines, and collection systems for T&D projects, renewable and energy storage projects, industrial facilities, data centers, O&G midstream facilities. The engineer will coordinate his/her design activities to maintain project schedules and ensure successful project completion. The engineer will also assist the pursuits team in preparation of estimates and project proposals. This position is accountable to provide all design activities in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, including all of WSP's policies and procedures, such as Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
