Job summary

Accelya is seeking a Senior Engineer - Implementation Release Management to lead end-to-end release cycles for complex platform deployments. You will coordinate multiple workstreams, govern change control, and drive automation across CI/CD tools to improve velocity and reduce risk.

The role emphasizes leveraging AI-powered insights for planning, risk assessment and post-release reporting, while mentoring junior engineers and acting as the primary liaison during high-priority deployments.

Role Purpose

As Senior Engineer - Implementation Release Management at Accelya, you will lead release management, owning the release lifecycle end-to-end, managing complex and high-risk deployments and continuously improving release processes to increase velocity and reduce risk.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the release lifecycle for complex, high-risk platform releases, managing multiple workstreams and coordinating cross-functional teams through to successful deployment


• Own the change management framework, governing all changes to the airline platform and ensuring compliance with change management policies


• Design and optimise CI/CD pipeline workflows, implementing automation to improve release velocity and reduce deployment risk


• Use AI-powered release analytics and generative AI (Claude, ChatGPT or equivalent) to improve release planning, risk assessment and post-release reporting


• Lead release post-mortems, identifying root causes of release incidents and driving lasting process improvements


• Mentor junior release engineers, building capability in CI/CD, change management and release governance


• Act as the primary point of contact for release management during high-priority deployments and major releases

Required Experience & Skills

• 57 years of release management experience, including leading complex release programmes


• Expert knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation and progressive delivery techniques


• Deep understanding of change management governance and release risk management


• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field; ITIL certification preferred

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Strong experience with AI-enhanced CI/CD platforms and intelligent deployment tools for predictive release risk assessment


• Expertise in progressive delivery techniques (canary, blue-green, feature flags) and how AI analytics improve deployment safety


• Use of generative AI (Claude, ChatGPT or equivalent) for high-quality release documentation, change impact analysis and executive release communications


• Knowledge of how AI is transforming release engineering, including autonomous deployment validation, AI-powered rollback decisions and intelligent change risk scoring
