Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in protection and control for substation projects. You will deliver detailed drawings, liaise with clients and international counterparts, and collaborate with a project team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality designs.

Ideal candidates hold a BE/BTech/ME/MTech in Electrical engineering with 10+ years of protection and control experience, including schemes for 400kV substations.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech/ME/MTech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in protection & control.
• Experience with Substation protection schemes up to 400kV desirable.
• Knowledge of Line Protection & Busbar protection concepts.
• Familiarity with SLDs, wiring diagrams, and BOQ preparation.
• Working experience on Australia/UK projects is desirable.

• Delivering drawings to defined quality standards and timelines with the client.
• Communicate with clients or foreign counterparts with confidence.
• Work in a team to deliver projects on time.
• Attend meetings with technical leads and project engineers.
• Proficient in MicroStation, AutoCAD; basic skills in Revit and Substation 3D design.

Here’s what you’ll need

About You

• BE/B Tech/ME/M Tech Electrical
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in protection & control field (Substation experience up to 400kV is desirable)
• Key Line diagram (Protection SLD)
• Schematic drawings (Line protection, Transformer Protection, SVC protection, Capacitor bank protection, Busbar protection, Breaker Fail schemes etc.)
• Wiring diagrams
• Panel General Arrangement & BOQ
• Interface drawings
• Interconnection schedules
• Assembled forms
• AC/DC Auxiliary schematics
• Relay Setting calculation
• Working experience on Australia/UK projects is desirable
• Capable of working under challenging workload subject to change at short notice.
• Good communication & IT skills.
• Clear knowledge of work procedures, and ability to work independently.
