Job summary

Pratt & Whitney seeks a Project Engineer to join the India Engineering Center in Bengaluru. You will support the Mechanical Systems, Externals and Nacelles Engineering Project team with production and field support for our engines, focusing on externals.

Ideal candidates hold M.Tech or B.Tech in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with aerospace experience, and can work across IPTs with strong communication and design integration skills.

Qualifications

• 6+ years with M.Tech or 8+ years with B.Tech in aerospace/gas turbine engineering.

Pratt & Whitney is a seeking a Project Engineer to work at our India Engineering Center campus in Bengaluru, India. The successful candidate will join the Mechanical Systems, Externals and Nacelles Engineering Project team to provide production and field support for our operational commercial engines. This mainly includes components related to engine externals.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB PURPOSE

This position is for a Project Engineering professional working with limited support. Supports the development of project plans, schedules and budgets, tracks progress, resolves problems, develops solutions, and forecasts project revenue. Coordinates with other functional organizations, identifies and addresses project problems, analyzes data gathered, and develops solutions and recommendations to solve problems, meet deadlines and optimize performance.

JOB ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES OR TASKS

• Supports the development of project plans, schedules and budgets
• Tracks progress, identifies and resolves obstacles to minimize disruption to project schedules to ensure smooth project operations
• Supports in the preparation of status and technical content to Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) and upper Pratt & Whitney management
• Analyzes data gathered and develops solutions or alternative methods of proceeding to optimize performance and increase efficiency of work
• Work closely with Integrated Product Team (IPT) members and authorities on hardware field investigations to drive root cause and recommend product improvements
• Supports Class 1 and Class 2 engineering change execution
• Technical background to lead design integration with Airframer and suppliers on components like engine Nacelles.
• Maintains and presents plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project(s) to track progress and ensure that established targets are met
• Support in the execution of risks assessments and mitigation plans
• Identifies and addresses project problems and recommends resolutions to ensure the successful completion of projects
• Facilitates project tasks with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project objectives

OTHER MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES OR TASKS

• Attend and have participation in group meetings, teleconferences and/or training required
• Actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement using ACE tools and support AS9100 efforts
• Based on business needs, the incumbent may be required to support other duties/functions within the company
• Support project management activities

Basic Qualifications:

• M.Tech or B.Tech degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• 6+ years of experience with M.Tech or 8+ years of experience with B.Tech preferably in Aerospace/Gas Turbine Engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in the Aerospace Industry
• Previous gas turbine experience
• Working proficiency with MS Office, Teamcenter, SAP, MS Project or other scheduling software
• The ability to craft clear communication and build positive relationships
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent at promoting teamwork
