Job summary

Trane Technologies in Bengaluru seeks a Senior Engineer – Product Engineering to lead design and manufacturing activities for current and next-line products. You will work with cross-functional teams across locations to deliver high-quality, cost-conscious results that meet global customer specs.

The role requires a BE in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 3+ years in product engineering, DFMEA and test planning, plus familiarity with metal/non-metal components and PLM/PDM tools.

Qualifications

• BE Mechanical degree or equivalent; master’s in Thermal Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in component selection, system integration, concept development, design calculations, and design engineering.
• Experience in product design and development processes; hands-on DFMEA and test plan development.
• Knowledge of metal and non-metal component design; basic electrical understanding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand project requirements and collaborate with global teams to deliver projects using standard processes.
• Ensure milestones are met within Quality, Delivery, and Cost targets; participate in design reviews.
• Develop concepts and specify components with suppliers; create DFMEA and test plans.
• Create and release eng. documentation using PLM/PDM (ProE/Windchill). Coordinate design changes with teams.

In this pivotal role, you will facilitate the design and manufacturing of our current & next line of exciting products. As a lead product engineer, you will work closely with the cross functional teams in various locations of our business to build industry-relevant products that meet the required specifications for our global customers. The projects could be in the areas of Productivity, Q&R, NPD, Agile, NTP and others. **What you will do:*** In this role you will: + Understand project requirements, collaborate with project owners, leaders & cross-functional teams across the globe for the delivery of projects, by adhering to standard processes, systems, and project management principles + Ensure the completion of project milestones/deliverables within committed Quality (Q), Delivery (D), Project cost (C) &Product cost (C) targets. Proficient in Project management. + Solve technical problems, identify solutions, participate in concept reviews, critical design reviews, and other technical discussions with the global team and handle multiple projects at the same time + Develop concepts, design/select & develop components along with suppliers, develop component specifications for structural component (metal, non-metal) and assemblies, DFMEA and test plan + Create and release engineering documentation using PLM & PDM software like ProE & Windchill. (Design, Drawings, Bill of material, and Specifications). + Co-ordinate with cross-functional team to implement design changes.**What you will bring:**BE degree - Mechanical/ Masters in Thermal Engineering / related specialization * 3+ years on experience in component selection, system integration, concept development, design calculations, design engineering in the domain currently working.* Experience in product design, development process/phases; Hands on experience in DFMEA and test plan development. Exposure to prototype/engineering builds & testing.* Good Knowledge of metal & Non-metal component design, assy, Mfg process. Basics of Electrical system / components would be added advantage.* Basic knowledge in understanding material properties for materials selection considering application requirements.* Demonstrates ability to get to root cause and to take effective action to solve problems. Hands on experience with problem solving tools.* Demonstrates innovation & initiative approach at work, ability to develop new methods and approaches.* Fosters effective teamwork where people work together to achieve common goals. A strong team player that can work with others.* Excellent communication skills.
