Job summary

Growth For Impact in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead process design on multiple projects, supervise engineers and ensure technical accuracy of calculations.

You will develop basis of design, perform detailed calculations, and ensure design methods meet client requirements and the Arcadis Way. The role includes mentoring junior engineers and contributing to safety and quality assurance. Stay updated with industry innovations and support the digital strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
• 8–12 years total experience in process engineering.
• Experience in drinking water, wastewater, and sludge treatment is preferred.
• Chartered status or working towards IChemE membership.

Job description

ROLE

• Undertake process design work on projects and supervise/check the work of assigned engineers.
• Develop the basis of design, perform detailed calculations, and ensure the accuracy of these calculations.
• Ensure design methods, standards, and data conform with client requirements and the Arcadis Way of Design and Engineering.
• Build and maintain a strong industry profile, staying up to date with innovations and developments.
• Support the digital strategy and stay abreast of market technology.
• Work independently and collaboratively with teams on various projects in line with client requirements.
• Support the training and development of junior engineers.

• Ensure a high standard of safety and follow Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures.
• Analyse data to evaluate the performance of existing client assets and develop site condition reports.
• Develop process flow diagrams, mass balances, and basic hydraulics between process units.
• Produce control philosophies and commissioning plans.
• Develop process and performance specifications.
• Perform safety‑related calculations and provide input to HAZOPs, SIL and other safety reviews.
• Liaise with other engineering disciplines, review supplier quotations, project 3D CAD models, and other multidisciplinary activities.
• Keep up to date with industry, technical, and legislative developments; seek opportunities to enhance professional profile through presentations, publications, and technical committees.
• Lead by example to promote continual improvement in SHE performance across the business.
• Work flexibly with various clients and be willing to undertake secondments.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 8–12 years of total experience in process engineering.
• Experience in at least two of the following: drinking water, wastewater, and sludge treatment processes.
• Chartered status or working towards membership of IChemE or an equivalent professional institution.
• Experience developing and implementing technological and innovative solutions in process engineering.
• Ability to be client‑facing and collaborate effectively with colleagues and customers.
• Ability to work on own initiative and seek assistance when required.
• Knowledge of digital tools such as process modelling, simulators, and related technologies.
