Job summary

Growth For Impact is seeking a Design Lead to independently and collaboratively deliver complex electrical designs for water and wastewater facilities. The role emphasizes safety, technical leadership, and cross-disciplinary delivery using modern digital design methods.

You will mentor staff, manage resources, and coordinate with project managers to ensure timely, cost-effective outcomes across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Produce, check, review, and approve complex electrical detailed designs including calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings.
• Lead design and advisory services for water and wastewater process plants, pumping stations, and ancillary assets.
• Ensure safety through design leadership and actions.
• Provide technical delivery of multi-disciplinary projects in a Design Lead capacity using digital design techniques.
• Identify and develop innovative, optimized technical solutions based on client needs and capture project knowledge.
• Engage with regional offices/teams regarding safe design requirements and flag risks at appropriate levels.
• Resolve issues and build strong relationships with project colleagues.
• Mentor and supervise colleagues in professional development.
• Provide line management and performance development for assigned staff.
• Oversee work and development of multiple colleagues on complex projects across multiple disciplines.
• Take responsibility for technical resource allocation, quality assurance, client feedback, and communication of changes/modifications.
• Promote MEICA team capability and achievements internally and externally.
• Liaise with project manager to ensure commercial aspects related to the design team meet results.
• Develop plans and budgets for medium-size or complex tasks and monitor progress.

ROLE

• – Self-start and work independently or as a team member, producing, checking, reviewing, and approving complex electrical detailed designs including calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings.
• – Lead design and advisory services for new and existing water and wastewater process plants, pumping stations, and ancillary assets.
• – Ensure safety of yourself and others through design leadership and actions.
• – Provide technical delivery of multi‑disciplinary projects in a Design Lead capacity using latest digital design techniques.
• – Identify and develop innovative, optimized technical solutions based on client needs and capture key project and technical knowledge.
• – Proactively engage with Arcadis regional offices/teams regarding safe design requirements and flag risks at appropriate levels.
• – Resolve issues and build strong relationships with project colleagues, evidenced through positive feedback.
