Job summary

WSP India is seeking a Piping Engineer to support the GCC team. The role involves detailed piping design for cross-country and plant projects, including PFDs/BFDs and 3D modeling.

Qualifications include BE/BTech in Mechanical and 8–12 years of relevant experience. You will work within a hybrid/structured environment, contributing to technical excellence and project delivery.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Mechanical engineering is required.
• 8-12 years of relevant piping design experience.
• Experience with cross-country piping and plant projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Pre-Contract and Project Delivery teams for piping design of cross-country/inplant power, desalination and sewage treatment plants.
• Perform detailed piping design, including PFDs, P&IDs, and 3D model development.
• Create and draft piping specifications, datasheets, and layout drawings.
• Develop piping plans, isometrics, plot plans, and site topographical data integration.
• Review piping design calculations, method statements, and contractor drawings.
• Enforce CAD standards and contribute to continuous improvement with the team.
• Collaborate within a cross-disciplinary team and work independently when required.
• Support development activities and MS Office proficiency.

• Technical support to the Pre-Contract and Project Delivery teams on matters concerning the design, construction and operation of cross-country/inplant power, desalination and sewage treatment plants and associated equipment.

• Detail design of cross-country piping in power and water projects and use of the associated pipe modelling and analysis software packages.

• Preparation of basic and detail piping technical specifications, datasheets and pipe layout drawings.

• Create and Draft PFDs, BFDs, PIDs, work on equipment and piping 3D model development

• Develop detail design drawings incorporating vendor 2D and 3D drawings for gas plant projects

• Develop overall piping plans, general layouts, isometrics, plot plans, and other project specific details. Including the application Site Topographical Survey drawings and data

• Review of piping design and sizing calculations and drawings

• Review of method statement/ test procedures submitted by contractors for cross-country/inplant power, desalination and sewage treatment plants site activities related to piping work.

• Assists with establishing, maintaining and enforcing the use of CAD standards in line with WSP procedures.

• The role will require working alone and as part of a large cross disciplinary team across office locations so the successful candidate should be self-motivated and a strong communicator who works well with others.

• Support internal development and continuous improvement activities as required

• Competent with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
