Job summary

WSP India is seeking a Senior Engineer Pavement to join the UK GCC Civil Team. You will plan and manage delivery of pavement projects, ensuring design adequacy, standards compliance, and on-time, within-budget execution. The role requires 7+ years in pavement design, experience with AASHTO/DMRB, and ability to lead teams.

UK/International pavement knowledge and strong communication are essential. This position offers involvement in maintenance design and investigations and requires collaboration

Qualifications

• 7 years of pavement design and evaluation experience.
• 3+ years using AASHTO/DMRB pavement design methods.
• Ability to design and lead road pavement projects.
• Experience with heavy-duty pavements (port and airfield).
• Knowledge of UK/International pavement engineering.
• Experience leading teams and strong communication skills.
• Chartered Engineer (ICE/CIHT) or near Chartered status.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Recruit an ambitious and dynamic Senior Engineer Pavement to join the UK GCC CIVIL Team.
• Work alongside the UK discipline within the Civil team.
• Plan and manage the delivery of projects, ensuring adequacy of design, compliance with standards and legislation, resource time, cost, and quality.

Qualifications

• 7 years of professional experience in pavement design and evaluation techniques.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in pavement design using AASHTO/DMRB methods.
• Ability to design and lead road pavement design projects.
• Working knowledge of heavy‑duty pavements (port and airfield).
• Working knowledge of concrete pavement and flexible pavement design.
• Knowledge of UK/International pavement engineering demonstrated by experience in pavement design and investigation.
• Experience of pavement investigation projects for maintenance design and failure investigation.
• Knowledge of materials behaviour underlying standard specifications.
• Knowledge of road operation, maintenance and renewal practices.
• Ability to understand the scope and limits of responsibility between various engineering disciplines and project support groups.
• Experience leading teams and people management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Chartered member or close to achieving Chartership status with the UK Engineering Council through ICE or CIHT.
