Job summary

Tricord International India™ is seeking a Senior Engineer in the New Product Introduction Department to join a team that ensures successful project launches while reducing risk and establishing repeatable, reliable processes that satisfy customer expectations.

You will support the SME Manager with supplier audits, PPAP engagements, contract management and general technical support, coordinating with sourcing and engineering on prints, reviews and supplier qualification to keep programs on

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technologies.
• 7-10 yrs experience in a related role.
• Fluent in English - written and spoken.
• Experience with Tool & Die.
• Experience with Control Plans, Process Mapping.

Responsibilities

• Schedule projects to execute timelines for contract manufacturing, first time PPAP suppliers and onboarding.
• Assist Sourcing and Engineering in print and product reviews.
• Assist team in finding equivalent material and standard items via specifications review.
• Assist with technical requirements, PFMEA and VAVE activities.
• Evaluate and define required processes from print interpretation.
• Assist in selecting or qualifying suppliers from the TBG base.
• Troubleshoot engineering challenges to keep processes on time.
• Arrange product testing with outside vendors.
• Demonstrate understanding of PPAP, PFMEA, Six Sigma, GD&T, CAD modeling, tool & die concepts.

Job description

The Sr Engineer in the New Product Introduction Department is responsible to work as part of a team to guarantee successful project launches while reducing risk and establishing a repeatable and reliable process satisfying the customer’s expectations. The Sr Engineer will provide support to the SME Manager who is responsible to manage supplier audits, new supplier PPAP engagements, contract management and provide general technical support as needed.

Responsibilities-

• Schedule projects to execute successful timelines for contract manufacturing, first time PPAP suppliers and initial supplier onboarding and supplier audits.
• Assist the Sourcing and Engineering team in print and product reviews,
• Assist team and organization in finding equivalent material and standard items by going through Specifications in details by providing comparison support and by finding supplier.
• Assist fellow team members and suppliers with technical requirements, process FEMA’s and VAVE.
• Evaluate and define the required process from print interpretation.
• Assist in selecting the correct supplier from the TBG supplier base and/or qualify a new supplier if required.
• Assist in trouble shooting technical challenges within the engineering group to keep processes on time and effective.
• Arrange product testing with outside vendors.
• Strong understanding of all levels of the PPAP process, PFEMA, Six Sigma, Poke Yoka error proofing, material alternatives, CAD modeling, Tool & Die concepts, GD&T, print interpretation, product packaging, etc.
• Communicate project progress clearly to the SME Manager in a timely manner.

Requirements-

• Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technologies
• 7-10 yrs experience in a related role
• Proficient with MS office applications, MAC, online meeting software, AutoCAD, 3d design, and other online collaboration software
• Experience/training with metrology equipment such as CMM, height gage, profilometer, mics, etc.
• Fluent in English- written and spoken
• Experience with Tool & Die
• Experience with Control Plans, Process Mapping
