Job summary

Getinge in Bengaluru is seeking a senior localization engineer to plan and execute localization projects for electromechanical products in India, coordinating with design, verification and quality teams. You will build a supplier network in electronics/EMS to meet cost, speed and quality targets, and drive production transfers through NPI and pilot phases with suppliers.

Experience leading localization projects for complex electromechanical devices and familiarity with ISO QMS are preferred,

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute localization/indigenization projects for parts, sub-assemblies and products in India.
• Develop suppliers across electronics and EMS ecosystem to meet cost, speed and quality targets.
• Plan and drive production transfers through NPI and pilot phases with suppliers.
• Resolve technical problem statements in production transfers.
• Coordinate Getinge’s NPI/manufacturing operations – in-house and contract; liaise with global teams for LCC sourcing.
• Work with Design, Verification, Quality, and sourcing teams.
• Drive RFx with India suppliers for domestic and international opportunities.
• Plan and drive SQAP qualification of production parts in development and transfers.
• Participate in a global cross-functional team to improve quality and cost.
• Problem solving from description to root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure product specs and quality requirements are met.
• Develop QA programs with suppliers and SOPs (including training).
• Implement quality control of components; coordinate remediation with suppliers.
• Maintain SOPs for ISO certifications; qualify new suppliers with purchasers/program managers.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Experience leading at least one localization project for complex electromechanical products.

Job description

Job responsibilities and Essential Duties:

• Plan and execute localization/indigenization projects for parts, sub-assemblies and products in India,
• Proactively develop suppliers across electronics and electromechanical (EMS) ecosystem to meet high demands on cost, speed and quality.
• Plan, and drive production transfers though NPI and pilot phases in coordination with suppliers
• Resolve technical problem statements in production transfers
• Coordinate and supervise Getinge’s NPI / manufacturing operations – In-house and contract manufacturing. Coordinate with global teams to identify and satisfy LCC sourcing requirements
• Work with cross functional teams consisting of Design, Verification, Quality, and sourcing functions
• Drive RFx exercises with India suppliers for domestic as well as international supply opportunities
• Plan and drive SQAP (i.e., qualification of production parts in product development projects and in production transfers)
• Take active part in a global cross functional team to improve our products regarding quality and cost.
• Problem solving – from problem description, via root cause analyze to corrective and preventive solutions in place. As the doer or as the coordinator.
• Responsible for ensuring that product specifications and Quality requirements are met.
• Responsible for developing Quality Assurance program with suppliers and suitable SOPs (including training).
• Responsible for implementing quality control of components manufactured / sourced (incl. quality checks and inspections).
• Work with suppliers to resolve component quality issues and implement remediation in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain SOPs of ISO certifications.
• Work with Purchasers and Program Managers to qualify new suppliers.
• Adherent to company policies and procedures
• Experience in leading at least one successful localization project for complex electromechanical products.
• Experience in medical devices is preferred. Experience of design transfer to manufacturing with other regulated industries (aerospace, railways, automobiles are acceptable)
• 6 -10 years’ experience in should costing, quotation preparation as per RFQ desirable.
• Knowledge of different production technologies
• Hands-on knowledge of quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001 etc.
• Experience in quality- and problem-solving tools.
• Practical experience from systematic process development.
• Formal education degree in Engineering -Electronics/ Instrumentation/ Electromechanical /Industrial Engineering / Production Technologies
• Degree in Quality Management / Production Management is desirable
• Various certifications related to QMS.

• Strong understanding of prevalent production technologies in EMS domain esp electronics assemblies
• Hands-on experience in cost estimation and analysis for high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments
• Strong and proven technical and communication skills with fluency in English
