Job summary

REA Group is seeking an Engineer with 3–6 years of experience to join the team at REA Cyber City in India. You will collaborate with global cross-functional teams to craft, build, and enhance solutions delivering exceptional user experiences.

You will work on impactful projects across frontend and backend, using languages like C#, ASP.NET Core, REACT, TypeScript, and JavaScript, with AWS, SQL Server, and DynamoDB. The role offers a hybrid working model in Cyber City, India.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to handle both frontend and backend development tasks.
• Proficiency in two or more development languages and frameworks across full stack.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases like SQL Server and DynamoDB on AWS.
• Experience with Agile methodology and CI/CD approaches.
• Good understanding of TDD and unit testing.
• Knowledge of software design patterns and best practices.
• Familiarity with web app security practices.
• Exposure to AWS cloud platforms.
• Willingness to learn and adapt.

What the role is all about:

We're seeking an Engineer (3-6 years' experience), to join the team at REA Cyber City. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the globe, to craft, build, and enhance solutions aimed at delivering outstanding user experiences.

While no two days are likely to be the same, your typical responsibilities will include:

• Use your passion for software development to contribute towards creating a user experience that is platform-appropriate, seamless, and centred around human needs.

• Learn and adopt clean and reusable code best practices like writing clean and reusable code using TDD, pair programming, and design patterns.

• Take ownership and accountability of individual deliverables.

• Contribute to the adoption of best practices, coding standards, and engineering principles to ensure a high-quality and maintainable codebase.

• Support the team’s iterations, scope, capacity, risks, issues, and timelines.

• Participate in technical discussions and code reviews to maintain code quality, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure adherence to standards.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, such as automation, tooling enhancements, and process optimisations, to increase productivity and operational efficiency.

• Working with direct leadership to understand business priorities and communicate technical options, review and report on progress and express ideas.

Who we’re looking for:

Our ideal candidate will have skills in some of the following areas, whilst demonstrating both a desire and commitment to learning others.

• Proven ability to handle both frontend and backend development tasks

• Proficiency in two or more development languages, frameworks ( C#, ASP.NET Core, REACT, TypeScript, JavaScript) covering the full stack of frontend and backend development.

• Experience working with relational and non-relational database solutions such as SQL Server and DynamoDB on AWS cloud

• Experience with Agile methodology and CI/CD approaches

• Good understanding of TDD and unit testing

• Good understanding of software design pattern and development best practices.

• Good understanding of web application security practices

• Exposure of cloud platforms such as AWS

• A willingness to tackle challenges with a solutions-focused approach, learning from experiences and adapting strategies.

• Demonstrates initiative, takes ownership of tasks, and manages time effectively.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Bonus points for:

• Any experience in Kotlin language for developing Backend APIs or have interest in learning and contributing.

• Experience with reliable CI/CD using Buildkite Pipelines.

• Experience in using and managing Cloud infrastructure in AWS.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code techniques.

• Knowledge of Octopus Deployment tool, Splunk, PagerDuty and NewRelic platforms.
