Job summary

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) invites an Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to naval, defence and marine shipbuilding projects in Tamil Nadu. You will prepare electrical designs, develop SLDs, load lists, cable schedules, lighting and earthing layouts, and ensure compliance with customer specs and international standards.

Required BE/B.Tech in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics/ECE and 3–6 years of experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD, AVEVA 3D, CADMATIC 3D and IEC/IEEE/IS standards.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics or Electronics & Communication.
• 3–6 years of relevant experience in electrical design for shipbuilding/marine/defense.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, AVEVA 3D, CADMATIC 3D and knowledge of IEC/IEEE/IS standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical system designs for shipbuilding projects.
• Develop SLDs, Load Lists, Power Balance Calculations and Electrical Distribution Philosophy.
• Prepare cable schedules, routing layouts and cable sizing calculations.
• Design lighting systems, emergency lighting, small power and earthing arrangements.
• Prepare electrical equipment layouts and installation drawings.
• Develop Control & Instrumentation interface drawings.
• Prepare equipment specifications and technical requisitions.
• Review vendor drawings for project compliance.
• Participate in design reviews with customers and classification societies.
• Ensure compliance with Naval standards, IEC, IEEE, IS, MIL Standards and Classification Rules.
