Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) is currently looking for a Senior Engineer to lead the development of core engine components for Caterpillar Engine applications. The position is accountable for leading the design, development and validation of core engine components (5C components include cylinder heads, cylinder blocks, crankshafts, connecting rods, camshafts, gears, housings, pistons, rings, liners, and valve mechanism components.) and systems in support of New Source Introduction (NSI), Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. The position will have broad responsibility from concept development to release to production in a manner to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality, and serviceability.
The individual must have strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with NSI lead, product group teams, and key strategic suppliers to effectively design and development components and system solutions supporting product group’s program deliverables. Clear and consistent communication, the ability to troubleshoot, and solid technical aptitude are essential in this position for effective collaboration with diverse teams.

Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test product design drafts.
Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
