Job summary

Liebherr CMCtec India Private Limited in Pune, India seeks an experienced Component Engineer to assess replacement solutions, review PCNs/EOLs, and ensure accurate traceability of components. Your role will bridge design and procurement to maintain product continuity through proactive lifecycle management.

You will analyze datasheets, manage component databases, and support cross-functional teams across automotive, industrial, and aviation sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Telecommunication.
• 8–10 years of component engineering experience in automotive/industrial/aviation.
• Excellent English communication; German knowledge is a plus.
• Strong ability to read datasheets and specify replacement components.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document replacement solutions for electronic component changes and EOL/PCN impacts.
• Review PCNs/EOLs to determine product impact and required investigations.
• Identify affected components and allocate to projects with traceability.
• Create or modify components based on design and procurement needs.
• Conduct component searches and recommend parts per specifications.
• Maintain and update component data and records in company systems.
• Support procurement/engineering to resolve faulty parts and supply challenges.
• Manage configuration control and document changes and related tech data.
• Analyze datasheets to support component selection and replacement.
• Ensure compliance with internal lifecycle management processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for product continuity.

Job description

• Assess and document replacement solutions for electronic component changes, discontinuations, and technical issues in accordance with LED (Liebherr Electronics and Drives) Standards.
• Review and evaluate Product Change Notifications (PCNs) and End of Life (EOL) notifications to determine the impact on products and whether detailed investigation is required.
• Identify affected components and allocate them to relevant projects, ensuring accurate traceability within the LED component database.
• Create or modify components based on requirements from design and procurement.
• Conduct component searches and recommend suitable parts based on engineering specifications, project requirements, and manufacturer datasheets.
• Maintain and update component data, records, and documentation within the company systems.
• Support procurement and engineering teams in resolving faulty part issues and component supply challenges.
• Manage configuration control processes and ensure proper documentation of component changes and related technical information.
• Analyze manufacturer datasheets and technical documentation to support component selection and replacement activities.
• Ensure compliance with internal processes, standards, and training guidelines related to electronic component lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product continuity and minimize risks associated with component obsolescence and change management.

  Technical Skills

  • Strong educational background in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electronic components, including their functions, specifications, and applications.
  • Knowledge of PLM systems like Windchill, ENOVIA, SAP PLM etc.
  • Expertise in analyzing and selecting components using manufacturer datasheets and technical documentation.
  • Experience in analog and digital hardware development and maintenance is highly advantageous.
  • Understanding of electronics applications within the automotive, industrial, and/or aviation industries.
  • Knowledge of component lifecycle management, including PCN, EOL, and obsolescence management processes.
  • Proficiency in maintaining and managing component databases and configuration management systems.
  • Ability to evaluate technical specifications and identify suitable replacement components.
  • Strong technical documentation and data management skills.

Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Telecommunication

Experience

Experience of 8-10 Years in Component Engineering in automotive, industrial, and/or aviation.

• Excellent Verbal and written communication in English.
• Basic knowledge of the German language is an added advantage.
