Job Overview: We are expanding our energy team and seeking a Technical Expert with core expertise in Civil & Structural domain for Power, Water, Renewables, and Transmission & Distribution projects. The role requires 8-10 years experience and involves conceptual design, FEED, and delivery of substations, solar, wind, BESS, and water projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform conceptual design & FEED for substations, solar, wind & BESS plants of utility scale.
• Prepare and review key civil deliverables: site layouts, road & drainage layouts, structural design, calculations, earth works & BOQs.
• Prepare/review general arrangement drawings of HV Substations, GIS, HVDC, site layouts, roads & drainage layout, admin and control buildings, bill of material etc for Power & Water projects.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams (Electrical, Instrumentation, Process) to ensure cross‑disciplinary excellence.
• Provide technical support to Utility Companies, Plant Owners, Project Developers, Banks & Governments pre/post financial close for new build and existing operational plants.
• Maintain project commitments and coordinate design activities with multi‑disciplined team members.
• Prepare technical inquiry requests and participate in technical bid evaluations, reviewing vendor drawings and documents.
• Collaborate with WSP ME office on project & business development activities.
• Attend training sessions and meetings dedicated to organizational initiatives.
• Lead projects and manage client interactions with hands‑on project management experience.
• Willingness to travel to client offices/project sites in ME as required.

Qualifications

• Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Familiarity with Middle East projects.
• 8-10 years experience in Power, Water, and Renewable projects (solar, wind, BESS).
• Hands‑on experience with software tools such as Staad, ETABS, SAFE, AutoCAD, Civil 3D.
• Experience with Middle East utilities (SEC/NGSA/TRANSCO) is a strong differentiator.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership, strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Self‑motivated, eager learner, with aptitude to grow within the field.
