Job summary

ReNew is seeking an experienced electrical/structural engineer to develop technical architecture from tender documents, review bid materials, and provide pre-bid queries with benchmarked options. The role involves coordinating design updates across electrical and civil disciplines and preparing BOM, SOW, and DPR for substations up to 400kV.

Responsibilities include site visits, electrical plans and calculations, and ensuring alignment with project requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing technical architecture based on tender documents (PPA, RFS).
• Experience with pre-bid queries and benchmarking options for bids.
• Proven ability to coordinate design updates across disciplines (electrical, civil).
• Knowledge of electrical plans, calculations (DSLP, Earthing, Short Circuit, Cable sizing, Relay settings).
• Experience with substations up to 400kV and related layouts.

Job Description

• Preparation of Technical architecture based on the tender documents; Review of Bid documents like PPA, RFS, etc.
• Provide technical Pre-bid queries; Propose various choices & their benchmarking for every Bid.
• Provide cross-functional coordination for design updates, field suggestions, specifications, for service and or construction related items
• Preparation of BOM, SOW, DPR and various other technical documents for construction of electrical substations up to 400kV voltage level.
• Due diligence of new products and vendor interaction.
• Conducting site visits to get complete details for projects
• Preparing & reviewing of electrical plans, specifications, calculations (DSLP, Earthing, Short Circuit Force, Cable sizing, Relay settings & coordination, electrical equipment sizing, etc.)
• Experience & good knowledge of running ETAP software.
• Preparation of detailed Technical Specifications of AC side electrical equipments.
• Solar Plant Designing starting from Inverter to terminal bay at grid sub-station.
• Preparing and reviewing Electrical layouts up to 400kV electrical substations.
• Good knowledge of under-ground, over-ground & over-head evacuation systems.
• Timely follow-up with Procurement & Project execution teams for on-going projects.

Structural Drawing Preparation

• Structural Drawing Preparation
  • Prepare GA drawings for plant buildings: production hall, utility block, substation, and warehouse - plan, elevation, and section views.
  • Produce structural steel fabrication drawings: columns, beams, purlins, girts, bracings, crane girders, monorail beams, and bolted / welded connections.
  • Prepare RCC structural drawings: columns, beams, slabs, shear walls, staircases, and retaining walls with complete reinforcement detailing.
  • Draw PEB and precast structural layouts; check dimensional compatibility with civil substructure and vendor drawings.
  • Prepare and issue Bar Bending Schedules (BBS); verify quantities and bar shapes against design intent.
• Foundation & Substructure Drawings
  • Prepare foundation layout drawings: isolated, combined, raft, and pile cap details for structures and heavy process equipment.
  • Draw equipment foundation drawings (block / frame type) with anchor bolt layout, pockets, embedded plates, and hold-down details as per OEM / mechanical inputs.
  • Prepare pile layout plans, pile cap reinforcement details, and pile boring schedules.
  • Draw underground utility drawings: cable trenches, drainage channels, sump pits, inspection chambers, and manhole details.
• Industrial Floor & Slab Drawings
  • Prepare ground-bearing and suspended slab drawings: reinforcement layout, construction joint pattern, and surface treatment zones.
  • Mark equipment pit details, forklift cutouts, trench covers, insert plates, and drainage grating within slab drawings.
  • Prepare formwork / shuttering drawings for complex slab and beam configurations.
    • Incorporate FF/FL flatness zone demarcations on floor layout drawings for contractor reference.roject execution teams for on-going projects.
