Job summary

Omnissa is building Workspace One, a cloud-enabled digital work platform, and we are looking for a seasoned backend engineer to join our UEM Platform team in Bengaluru. You will design and implement scalable services in C#/.NET, work with PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, and messaging systems, and help deliver secure, reliable software across environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field
9–14 years of experience building production backend services in C#/.NET
Hands-on experience with Kafka or a comparable messaging platform
Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL (or similar relational databases) and SQL
Familiarity with OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or another search/indexing engine
Experience with observability and telemetry: metrics, logging, and distributed tracing, ideally with Prometheus and related tooling
A pragmatic approach to reliability, testing, and debugging distributed systems

Responsibilities

Develop and own backend services in C#/.NET for distributed apps
Collaborate across teams and contribute code to base projects
Design scalable architectures and improve system performance
Ensure code quality through testing and debugging distributed systems
Work with SQL/PostgreSQL and OpenSearch in the data layer

What is the opportunity?

Workspace ONE is a digital workspace platform that simply and securely delivers and manages any app on any device by integrating access control, application management and multi-platform endpoint management. It is available as a cloud service or for on-premises deployment.

Our goal is to enable Workspace One-Unified End point Management platform to scale and manage billions of devices across various operating system platforms and device types.

As part of the UEM Platform team you will be involved in writing code, design and development of scalable software. You will be owning engineering initiatives and champion a culture of high ownership, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.

Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

You will need to produce software design and execute them for new use cases for various platform business.

You will need to produce design to scale the current system.

You will be regularly evaluated on the quality of the product you create and the code you write to ensure continued advancement of your technical skills in an environment that looks to expand them.

You will have to collaboratively work across other teams, design and contribute code to their code bases.

You will look at the product as a whole and look for code/design/architecture gaps, scalability/usability/supportability challenges and propose/implement solutions for the identified gaps.

What type of work will I be doing? What assignments or requirements* will I be performing on a regular basis? What are my deliverables?

You will work on a distributed application built on the event driven architecture.

You will work with C# on the server side.

You will work with SQL/PostgreSQL/Open Search for the database.

You will work with Kafka/Redis/RabbitMQ for inter and intra service communications.

What will you bring to Omnissa?

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field
Strong experience building production backend services in C# / .NET. with 9 to 14 yrs experience
Hands-on experience with Kafka or a comparable message/streaming platform.
Solid working knowledge of PostgreSQL (or similar relational databases) and SQL.
Familiarity with OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or another search/indexing engine.
Experience with observability and telemetry: metrics, logging, and distributed tracing, ideally with Prometheus and related tooling.
A pragmatic approach to reliability, testing, and debugging distributed systems.
