Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior bridge design leader in Kolkata to drive structural design for complex projects worldwide. You will guide technical teams, ensure high-quality deliverables, and manage project deadlines while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with remote offices.

You should bring 10+ years of hands-on bridge experience, proficiency in Midas and other major software, and a solid grasp of both international and Indian standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on experience in bridges design.
• Knowledge of structural design and behavior of bridges.
• Project experience with Midas (key requirement), STAAD, Sofistiks and LUSAS.
• Design experience in prestressed concrete, balanced cantilever and steel bridges; familiarity with international standards.
• Experience with sea bridges, rail/road viaducts, flyovers, interchanges and tunnels.
• Knowledge of international specifications and Indian standards; ICE membership.

Your impact

Responsibilities

• Structural design of bridges design for both local and global projects being delivered from the team
• Technical Leadership, Design Management and Project Management for projects and design packages
• Accountable for the quality (technical and presentation) of the deliverables that are prepared and submitted.
• Accountable for Submission of the project deliveries to the scheduled timeframe.
• Mentoring the juniors.
• Effective Liaising with remote teams in other offices

Here’s what you’ll need

10+ years of hands on experience in bridges design

KEY COMPETENCY – Technical Skills

• Knowledge of Structural Designing of Bridges / understanding of Structural behavior.
• Project experience on software like Midas (key requirement), STAAD, Sofistiks, Lusas
• Design experience in prestressed concrete bridges, balanced cantilever bridges, steel bridges. Should be conversant with International Standards
• Experience with bridge structures like Sea Bridges, Rail & Highway Viaducts, Flyovers, Interchanges, Tunnels
• Knowledge of International specifications/ codes along with Indian standards
• ICE Membership
