Job summary

Sandisk seeks a self-directed engineer to join the R&D phase, developing pre-silicon emulation platforms for HDD/SSD SoCs. You will engage with internal customers and external suppliers to advance hardware emulation efforts.

Responsibilities include assembling emulation platforms, configuring test equipment, and maintaining configurations. Requires associate degree in engineering tech, 2–4 years’ related experience, and strong Windows/Linux and Python skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or better in engineering technology or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to problem solve and debug electronics issues.
• 2-4 years related experience.
• Knowledgeable in Windows and Linux system administration and configuration.
• Python scripting.

We are looking for a highly self-directed person to assume a technical role working in the research and development phase of bringing our newest products to market. You will be actively engaging with internal customers and external suppliers to help develop pre silicon emulation platforms for leading edge HDD and SSD SoCs.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Assemble, configure, and maintain emulation platforms (including PCs, peripherals, and FPGA systems).

• Coordinate and manage site inventories and licensing, including drives, equipment, firmware/tools, etc.

Education and Experience

Desired, but not required, experience

• Familiarity with Synopsys HAAPS FPGAs.
• Prior work with SSDs or other storage devices.
• Configuration and use of protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
• Background in hardware electronics and hardware troubleshooting.

Skillsets

• Ability to work independently and multi-task in a dynamic environment based on engineering team needs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skill sets. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills especially dealing with engineering customers.
