Job summary

Brillio in Bengaluru seeks a Senior Engineer, Applications & Platforms to help rebuild an integration middleware platform. You will design a visual, node-based Integration Canvas and implement drag-and-drop workflows for efficient workflow creation.

You will define a canonical, versioned Integration DSL, support complex constructs, data transformations, and ensure end-to-end reliability. Collaboration with runtime engineers will shape observability, security, CI/CD, and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Configure routing and business-rule logic for dynamic workflow execution.
• Create workflow validation, preview, testing, and debugging tools for robustness.

Senior Engineer, Applications & Platforms

Job requirements

Experience Range: 7 + years of hands-on experience in integration middleware platforms, including Mulesoft, Boomi, Workato, or similar tools Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop a visual, node-based Integration Canvas to enable efficient workflow creation
• Implement drag-and-drop workflow design with reusable components, validation, testing, and publishing functionalities
• Define and evolve a canonical, versioned Integration DSL that remains UI-independent and compatible with runtime execution
• Build advanced workflow constructs such as sequential, conditional, parallel, loop, wait/timer, scheduling, event-triggered, and human-approval processes
• Develop field mapping and transformation features, supporting formulas, lookups, type conversion, and schema validation for JSON, XML, and CSV data
• Configure routing and business-rule logic to support dynamic workflow execution and flexible integration scenarios
• Create workflow validation, preview, testing, and debugging tools to ensure robust integration solutions
• Collaborate with runtime engineers to define workflow-definition and execution contracts, and contribute to platform observability, security, CI/CD, and architecture

Required Skills:

• Integration middleware expertise with platforms such as Mulesoft, Boomi, Workato, or similar
• Proficiency in TypeScript and React for developer-facing applications
• Backend development experience with Java, Go, TypeScript, or Python
• Experience with workflow/orchestration systems and distributed workflow concepts
• Strong understanding of state machines, event-driven architecture, and declarative models
• Proficiency with graph-based editors or workflow builders
• Expertise in data transformation, JSON, XML, CSV, and schema validation

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with React Flow, Rete.js, JointJS, or similar visual workflow libraries
• Familiarity with Temporal, Cadence, Camunda, or comparable workflow platforms
• Background in iPaaS, low-code/no-code, or developer platform environments
• Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns
• Expertise with OpenAPI, JSON Schema, or AsyncAPI specifications
• Experience with API management and workflow orchestration tools

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Mulesoft Certified Developer or equivalent integration middleware certification
• Certification in API management or workflow orchestration platforms (e.g., Camunda, Temporal)
