Job summary

Aptiv Bengaluru seeks a seasoned ADAS Software Engineer to design, implement, and test advanced algorithms in C++. You will collaborate with systems engineers to translate requirements into testable solutions and help shape DFMEAs.

You will analyze defects, optimize algorithms for real‑world performance, and contribute to the product roadmap. The role requires a strong background in control theory, state estimation, and data analysis with MATLAB and Excel, plus ownership of your tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with CS, Mechatronics, Electrical, Robotics or related field.
• 4+ years programming experience in C++ and algorithm development/testing.
• Strong background in control theory and systems design.
• Excellent data extraction and analysis using MATLAB and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, implement, and test ADAS algorithms using C++.
• Collaborate with systems engineers to derive requirements and test cases.
• Develop technical specs and DFMEAs.
• Work with upstream and downstream teams to ensure feature functionality.
• Identify and implement improvements to progress the product roadmap.
• Analyze defects and KPI results, root-cause issues, and improve algorithms.
• Collaborate with colleagues and customers to address real-world performance issues.
• Complete assigned individual and team tasks.

Your role

• Design, simulate, implement, and test ADAS algorithms using C++.
• Collaborate with systems engineers to support the creation and break-down of requirements and test cases.
• Develop technical specifications and DFMEAs.
• Collaborate with upstream and downstream teams to ensure proper feature functionality.
• Proactively identify and contribute to changes that help the product progress along its roadmap.
• Analyse defects and test results to ensure KPI achievement by root causing the issues and designing algorithm improvements.
• Work with colleagues and customers to develop and implement enhancements to address real-world performance issues.
• Complete assigned individual and team tasks.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering - Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or related technical field.
• Experience with State Estimation and advanced filtering methods.
• 4+ years of programming experience in development and testing of algorithms in C++
• Strong background in control theory & systems design
• Excellent data extraction & analysis skills (MATLAB, Excel)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong sense of ownership for your assigned tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or Batchelor's degree in engineering - Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or related technical field.
• 6+ years of programming experience in development and testing of algorithms in: C++.
• Appropriate and optimized use of AI Tools for overall efficiency of your workflow.
• Superior communication & presentation skills
• Background in automotive radar, vision, lidar, sensor fusion, working knowledge of ADAS.
• ISO 26262 / Functional Safety functional expertise
