Textron Specialized Vehicles seeks a Senior Engineer, Technical Publications in Bengaluru to lead publication development for new models, ensuring manuals and parts catalogs are accurate and up to date. You will read engineering drawings, coordinate with engineers, and apply tools like NX, FrameMaker, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Teamcenter.

Formación

• BE in Mechanical/Automobile or related field with 7–10 years of technical publications experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with engineering authoring tools: NX, FrameMaker, Illustrator, Photoshop and PLM (Teamcenter).
• Strong written and verbal English; able to work with engineers and SMEs.

Responsabilidades

• Plan the development of publications for new models in line with the production plan.
• Able to read and comprehend engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Identify the need for Owner’s manuals, Operation Manuals, Maintenance and Service Parts Manuals.
• Familiar with publishing tools and PLM, ensure accuracy of publication content.
• Proofread the publications and perform grammar checks and updates.
• Validate publication materials against specifications and SOPs.
• Initiate digitization and incorporate new technologies into publications.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to clarify technical queries.

Job Title:

Senior Engineer, Technical Publications

• Plan the development of publications for new models in line with the production plan.
• Able to read and comprehend engineering drawings and wiring diagrams
• Identifying the need for technical publications (Owner’s manuals, Operation Manual, Maintenance and Service Parts Manuals).
• Familiar with common Engineering/Technical Authoring tools and computer applications such as NX, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe FrameMaker, Photoshop and PLM tool preferably Teamcenter.
• Must be a self-starter requiring minimum supervision and perform with a degree of accuracy in the execution of job assignments.
• Studying PLM drawings and specifications for publication creation and clarify technical queries from Engineering.Must have good organizational skills, be able to prioritize work, accurately perform duties with constant activity in the area and pay close attention to detail.
• Manage the publication development activities to ensure the availability of the publication Material as per the timelines.
• Proofreading the publications (Corrections, Technical updates, Grammar check)
• Validating the newly developed publication materials for specification, content, standard operating procedures.
• Innovation & new technologies to be incorporated in Publications
• Taking initiatives for Digitization of Publications

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

1. Good understanding of engineering fundamentals
2. Must have comprehensive knowledge of personal computer systems with Microsoft Office, Adobe Products and PLM tools preferably Teamcenter
3. Ability to read and reliably interpret all technical manuals
4. Logical and creative approach

ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES

1. High level of English language proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
2. Must be a team player with the ability to work and communicate with proposal subject matter experts (mostly engineers)
3. Highly motivated individual with good, organized approach to challenges
4. Good communication skills (i.e., when speaking with engineers, maintenance SME's or pilots, be able to interpret their requirements into usable text)
5. Must be able to work under pressure, relate to others and maintain flexibility with schedules of the department
6. Be autonomous on daily normal duties
