Job summary

Aptiv in India is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to own, support, and evolve our embedded edge software platforms for automotive data logging and connectivity. You will work with legacy systems, lead problem-solving efforts, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring high reliability of production software.

Strong C++, embedded Linux, and automotive CAN/LIN/Ethernet experience are required, with 8–14 years in embedded development.

Qualifications

• 8–14 years of embedded software development experience.
• Advanced C++ expertise is required.
• Hands-on experience with embedded Linux systems and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of automotive protocols CAN, LIN, Ethernet.
• Experience in automotive/embedded product organizations and production systems.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive support, enhancement, and maintenance of embedded edge software across Linux and RTOS-based systems.
• Lead investigation and resolution of complex production issues.
• Design and implement robust C++ solutions for data acquisition and communication systems.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and best practices.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders to ensure system stability, quality, and performance.

Your Role

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer , you will play a critical role in owning, supporting, and evolving Aptiv’s embedded edge software platforms for automotive data logging and connectivity. You will work extensively with complex legacy systems, lead technical problem-solving efforts, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring high reliability of production software.

• Own and drive support, enhancement, and maintenance of embedded edge software across Linux and RTOS-based systems
• Lead investigation and resolution of complex production issues involving legacy and mission-critical code
• Design and implement robust C++ solutions for automotive data acquisition and communication systems
• Mentor and guide junior engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and best practices
• Collaborate with global, cross-functional stakeholders to ensure system stability, quality, and performance

Your Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
• 8–14 years of experience in embedded software development with advanced C++ expertise
• Strong hands-on experience with embedded Linux systems and shell scripting
• In-depth knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet
• Experience working in automotive or embedded product organizations, with exposure to production systems
