Job summary

Aptiv PLC is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to drive the support and maintenance of embedded software platforms for automotive data logging and connectivity. This role requires 8–14 years of embedded software development experience, focusing on advanced C++ skills and embedded Linux systems.

The ideal candidate will also lead technical problem-solving efforts and mentor junior engineers, ensuring high reliability of production software while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8–14 years of experience in embedded software development with advanced C++ expertise.
• Strong hands‑on experience with embedded Linux systems and shell scripting.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive support, enhancement, and maintenance of embedded edge software across Linux and RTOS based systems.
• Lead investigation and resolution of complex production issues involving legacy and mission‑critical code.
• Design and implement robust C++ solutions for automotive data acquisition.

YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in owning, supporting, and evolving Aptiv’s embedded edge software platforms for automotive data logging and connectivity. You will work extensively with complex legacy systems, lead technical problem‑solving efforts, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring high reliability of production software.

• Own and drive support, enhancement, and maintenance of embedded edge software across Linux and RTOS‑based systems
• Lead investigation and resolution of complex production issues involving legacy and mission‑critical code
• Design and implement robust C++ solutions for automotive data acquisition and communication systems
• Mentor and guide junior engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and best practices
• Collaborate with global, cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure system stability, quality, and performance

YOUR BACKGROUND

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
• 8–14 years of experience in embedded software development with advanced C++ expertise
• Strong hands‑on experience with embedded Linux systems and shell scripting
• In‑depth knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet
• Experience working in automotive or embedded product organizations, with exposure to production systems
