Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Bengaluru seeks a hardware and systems engineer to drive design from concept to prototype, ensuring cost, performance and quality targets are met.

You will collaborate with product incubation, cross-functional teams and EMS partners to deliver EMI/EMC‑compliant boards and support certification processes across military standards. This role requires hands-on design, simulations, and close collaboration with mechanical and firmware teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product incubation and cross-functional teams to define and realize system-level requirements with a focus on cost, performance, and quality.
• Design low-power, high-reliability analog and digital circuits, ensuring compliance with harsh EMI/EMC environments and applicable military standards.
• Analyse requirements and translate problem statements into technical specifications, architecture, and block diagrams.
• Develop schematics, perform design simulations using tools such as PSpice/LTSpice, and conduct signal integrity analysis.
• Prepare and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) and work closely with the supply chain for procurement and rapid prototyping.
• Guide PCB layout engineers on component placement, stack-up design, routing, and EMI/EMC compliance.
• Coordinate with EMS partners for prototype development, board bring-up, debugging, and functional validation.
• Develop and execute test plans for verification and validation, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Interface with certification bodies and support regulatory approvals and standard compliance processes.
• Influence mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing design decisions to ensure successful product delivery.
