Job summary

Cubic Transportation in Hyderabad designs and tests hardware for intelligent travel applications. The role involves leading a hands-on team through the full hardware development lifecycle, including supplier engagement and production handoffs.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of hardware design/testing experience, proficiency with Altium/Autocad, and a background in industrial or automotive domains. Domestic/international travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with strong hardware design and testing experience.
• Minimum 5+ years designing and testing hardware/embedded projects.
• Desirable: experience in industrial/automotive domains; familiarity with Altium and Autocad.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of end-to-end hardware design and testing lifecycle from concept to documentation.
• Lead design reviews and supplier coordination; manage parts for evaluation and production.
• Oversee supplier management from engineering spec to delivery of parts.
• Assess design and manufacturing proposals for cost effectiveness.

Job Description

Job Summary:

To Successfully design, develop, simulate and test hardware products for Cubic which will be used for intelligent travel applications in the transportation industry. You will be involved in the full life cycle of product development including design reviews, supplier management and working with production to deliver the end solution to the customer. The position requires a highly motivated and hands-on team player with an exceptional attention to detail, diligence, and a positive attitude. This being lead a role, might need to manage a team as per the project requirements.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Full technical responsibility for electronic and electrical engineering to fulfil the requirements through design, component selection, prototype, testing and full documentation stages
• Take ownership of the Design and keep the business updated on progress.
• Excellent communications both verbal and written are essential with all teams and management.
• Oversee the management of suppliers from engineering specification through to delivery of parts for evaluation, prototyping and production.
• To assess the validity of the various design and manufacturing proposals - for maximum cost effectiveness on the project
• Assist with the preparation of presentations and proposals to customers
• Comply with Cubics values and adherence to all company policy and procedures. In particular comply with the code of conduct, quality, security and occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Qualifications

Essential:

• B.E/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or similar relevant subject or equivalent supported by extensive relevant design experience.
• 5+ years of design and or testing of hardware/embedded projects

Desirable:

• Experience in working with industrial/automotive domain or equivalent domain
• Altium
• Autocad

Skills/Experience/Knowledge:

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in hardware design and testing
• Minimum of 3+ years of hands on experience with design and testing of products designed for industrial/automotive domain or equivalent domain is preferred
• Thorough understanding of Gbit Ethernet, USB, SPI and I2C interfaces and experience of design and testing of these interfaces
• Experience in hardware development life cycle - Requirement gathering, feasibility analysis, hardware design, component selection, schematic entry and layout co-ordination
• Working experience of using Altium will be added advantage
• Should be Familiar with simulation tools
• DTC, DFM and DFT experience
• Experience of writing Requirement specification, detailed design, test requirement and test report document of high standards
• Knowledge of tracking tools like Jira, experience in working with product database tools like PLM
