Job summary

Cubic Transportation Systems is seeking an experienced hardware/embedded design engineer to drive end-to-end development of electronic products for intelligent travel applications. You will own the design, component selection, prototyping, testing, and documentation while coordinating with suppliers and production teams.

The role requires strong hands-on ability, attention to detail, and the potential to lead a project team as needed. Travel may be required to meet project needs.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or similar with extensive design experience.
• 5+ years of hardware/embedded design and testing experience.
• Experience in industrial/automotive domains or equivalent.
• 5+ years hardware design and testing experience; 3+ years in industrial/automotive domain is preferred.
• Familiarity with Ethernet, USB, SPI and I2C interfaces, and their design/testing.

Responsibilities

• Full technical responsibility for electronic and electrical engineering from design to documentation.
• Oversee design progress and supplier management from requirements to delivery.
• Coordinate with production for end-to-end solutions and customer proposals.

Job Summary

To Successfully design, develop, simulate and test hardware products for Cubic which will be used for intelligent travel applications in the transportation industry. You will be involved in the full life cycle of product development including design reviews, supplier management and working with production to deliver the end solution to the customer. The position requires a highly motivated and hands-on team player with an exceptional attention to detail, diligence, and a positive attitude. This being lead a role, might need to manage a team as per the project requirements.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Full technical responsibility for electronic and electrical engineering to fulfil the requirements through design, component selection, prototype, testing and full documentation stages
• Take ownership of the Design and keep the business updated on progress.
• Excellent communications both verbal and written are essential with all teams and management.
• Oversee the management of suppliers from engineering specification through to delivery of parts for evaluation, prototyping and production.
• To assess the validity of the various design and manufacturing proposals - for maximum cost effectiveness on the project
• Assist with the preparation of presentations and proposals to customers
• Comply with Cubic’s values and adherence to all company policy and procedures. In particular comply with the code of conduct, quality, security and occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Qualifications Essential:
• B.E/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or similar relevant subject or equivalent supported by extensive relevant design experience.
• 5+ years of design and or testing of hardware/embedded projects
• Experience in working with industrial/automotive domain or equivalent domain
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in hardware design and testing
• Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience with design and testing of products designed for industrial/automotive domain or equivalent domain is preferred
• Thorough understanding of Gbit Ethernet, USB, SPI and I2C interfaces and experience of design and testing of these interfaces
• Experience in hardware development life cycle - Requirement gathering, feasibility analysis, hardware design, component selection, schematic entry and layout co-ordination
• Working experience of using Altium will be added advantage
• Should be Familiar with simulation tools DTC, DFM and DFT experience
• Experience of writing Requirement specification, detailed design, test requirement and test report document of high standards
• Knowledge of tracking tools like Jira, experience in working with product database tools like PLM
