Job summary

Fluor Corporation is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer in India with 10–14 years of experience to oversee mid-size/large project activities including planning, scheduling, cost estimating, changes, and documentation. Expertise in electrical system design, field interfaces, and vendor coordination is essential.

The role requires strong technical knowledge, professional registration, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. ETAP/SKM experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Accredited four-year degree in Electrical Engineering and eight years of work-related experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local statutes and guidelines.
• Ability to attend to detail and work efficiently under time constraints.
• Professional registration and membership in technical society (preferred).
• Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials.
• Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting.
• Practical field experience.
• Intermediate computer skills (word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, presentations).

Responsibilities

• Supervise and administer mid-size/large projects, including planning, scheduling, reporting, staffing, cost estimating and analysis, change management, and quality steps.
• Coordinate with equipment vendors and other disciplines, review technical documentation and resolve discrepancies.
• Develop specifications and design criteria; participate in procurement and subcontracting activities.
• Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve moderately complex engineering problems.
• Analyze and make independent recommendations for solutions aligned with project goals.

Job Description

• Electrical engineer with minimum 10 to 14 years of experience encompassing supervision and administrative activities of mid-size/large projects like planning, scheduling, reporting, staffing, cost estimating and analysis, change management, implementation of quality steps, interdisciplinary interfaces, client and vendor co-ordination, participating in important meetings, decision making and must have technical knowledge of electrical system design, system studies, electrical packages, hazardous area classification, installation contract, interface with mechanical packages, substation layouts, physical layouts, motor schematics, cable schedule, etc.

• Knowledge of ETAP or SKM.

• Apply Cost Competitive Execution techniques to develop the most cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline engineering work

• Develop and review specifications, including design criteria

• Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting

• Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve moderately complex engineering problems

• Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution

• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines

• Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

Accredited four (4) year degree in Electrical Engineering or global equivalent in engineering field of study and eight (8) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements

Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors

Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job

Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines

Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Professional registration and membership in technical society (preferred)
