Job summary

Fluor Corporation in India seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer (6–10 years) to lead supervision, planning, cost estimating and interface management on mid-size/large projects. You will work with client, vendor and discipline teams to drive safe, efficient execution and ensure quality outcomes.

The role requires a four-year Electrical Engineering degree, professional registration, strong communication, and hands-on knowledge of ETAP or SKM.

Qualifications

• Four-year electrical engineering degree is required.
• Three years of work experience in the discipline is expected.
• Professional registration or certification may be required locally.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Hands-on design and field experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise planning, scheduling, reporting, staffing and cost analysis on large projects.
• Coordinate interfaces between electrical, mechanical and other disciplines.
• Develop specifications and design criteria for electrical packages.
• Review vendor equipment documentation for compliance and resolve discrepancies.
• Apply cost-competitive execution techniques to minimize total project cost.
• Perform calculations, select equipment, and support procurement activities.

Job Description

• Electrical engineer with minimum 6 to 10 years of experience encompassing supervision and administrative activities of mid-size/large projects like planning, scheduling, reporting, staffing, cost estimating and analysis, change management, implementation of quality steps, interdisciplinary interfaces, client and vendor co-ordination, participating in important meetings, decision making and must have technical knowledge of electrical system design, system studies, electrical packages, hazardous area classification, installation contract, interface with mechanical packages, substation layouts, physical layouts, motor schematics, cable schedule, etc.
• Knowledge of ETAP or SKM.
• Apply Cost Competitive Execution techniques to develop the most cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline engineering work
• Develop and review specifications, including design criteria
• Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting
• Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve moderately complex engineering problems
• Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

• Accredited four (4) year degree in Electrical Engineering or global equivalent in engineering field of study and three (3) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
• Professional registration
• Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials
• Practical field experience
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
