The EHS Leader will be responsible for leading all aspects of environment, health and safety (EHS) program implementation, compliance and risk mitigation at JFWTC Bangalore. This Role Impacts the projects and programs at the site & across all GE Aerospace owned labs & functional areas. Responsible to maintain the highest standards of quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team with significant inputs into site priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has medium/high autonomy & requires high levels of operational judgment with SQDC framework.

Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is our multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.
Drive EHS strategy & excellence culture at the site to ensure Safety. Provide leadership and guidance in implementing & sustaining GE Aerospace's global EHS expectations & Frame Work at the site. Develop proactive EHS programs to maintain a safe work environment at the site. Provide leadership & Technical Expertise on all EHS related issues. Develop, Implement & sustain programs to prevent and address occupational hazards. Ensure compliance with all the EHS regulatory requirements (KSPCB, MOEF, KSFCA, AERB etc.) applicable to Research & Development organization. Act as an immediate contact for Researchers, Engineers and Functions staff concerning environmental, health and safety related needs, issues etc. Provide guidance & support for incident/event investigation. Lead and drive employee engagement events, Safety Teams. Lead & guide team to develop and conduct EHS training, and maintain EHS related records. Maintain knowledge of existing and proposed EHS regulations and advise management of the impact to the business regarding those regulations. Periodical inspection / audits to verify compliance and to ensure safe work practices followed at the site.
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve complex/moderately complex tasks or problems in the areas of research, technology, engineering and infrastructure/facilities. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and external sources to arrive at decisions. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead projects with high/moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field. As people leader, responsible for team performance and talent development inline with GE Aerospace requirements. Collaborate and partner with global & regional EHS teams to drive EHS excellence at the site.
