Job summary

CCS IT is seeking a Senior EDI Java Full Stack Developer to scale an EDI and supply-chain visibility platform. You will own end-to-end design, build high-throughput microservices, and guide production issues at scale while mentoring others.

You’ll work across the stack, from data translation and streaming pipelines to a responsive web UI, using Java/Spring Boot on the backend and modern frontend tech. Expect a hands-on, senior-role environment in a fast-moving supply chain domain.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience with Java (11/17+) and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with EDI standards and document types (X12/EDIFACT) and translation/mapping concepts.
• Strong design and operation experience of microservices and REST/GraphQL APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Java/Spring Boot microservices for EDI processing end-to-end.
• Develop and tune high-volume stream-processing pipelines (Flink/Kafka) for document correlation and lifecycle tracking.
• Create full-stack features with REST/GraphQL APIs and responsive front-ends (React or Angular/TypeScript).

Job description

We’re looking for a Senior EDI Java Full Stack Developer to help build and scale our EDI and supply-chain visibility platform. You’ll work across the full stack — from high-throughput, stateful stream-processing services that correlate millions of EDI documents a day, to the web UI our customers use to track their orders, shipments, and invoices in real time. This is a hands-on senior role: you’ll own the design of complex features, dig into production issues at scale, and mentor other engineers, while staying close to the code.

The platform processes standard EDI transactions (X12 and EDIFACT) for large retailers, manufacturers, and logistics providers — think purchase orders, invoices, advance ship notices, and functional acknowledgments flowing through translation, correlation, and lifecycle tracking, all backed by distributed data stores and a modern web front end.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain Java/Spring Boot microservices that ingest, translate, correlate, and track EDI documents end to end.
• Develop and tune stateful, high-volume stream-processing pipelines (Apache Flink / Kafka) that correlate related documents (PO ASN Invoice FA) and maintain document lifecycles.
• Build full-stack features: REST/GraphQL APIs on the back end and responsive, data-rich screens on the front end (React or Angular / TypeScript).
• Work with a range of data stores at scale — MongoDB (sharded), PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and ArangoDB (graph) — including schema design, indexing strategy, and query performance.
• Deploy and operate services on IBM Cloud with Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
• Implement and troubleshoot EDI translation and mapping (X12 / EDIFACT), partner identifiers, and trading-partner onboarding.
• Investigate and resolve complex production issues — trace data through streaming state, databases, and search indexes; perform root-cause analysis; and deliver durable fixes.
• Own solution design for significant features: weigh trade-offs, document the approach, and drive it through implementation, review, and release.
• Write automated tests, participate in code reviews, and uphold engineering standards for reliability, performance, and security.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers, and partner with product, QA, and support teams to deliver customer-facing value.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience, with deep, recent work in Java (11/17+) and Spring Boot.
• Hands‑on experience with EDI standards and document types (X12 and/or EDIFACT — e.g., 850, 810, 856, 855, 997, 214) and EDI translation/mapping concepts.
• Solid experience designing and operating microservices and REST (and/or GraphQL) APIs.
• Strong experience with multiple data stores at scale — MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and ArangoDB (or comparable graph databases) — including performance and indexing considerations.
• Production experience deploying and operating on IBM Cloud (or a comparable cloud) with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Strong debugging and root‑cause skills across distributed systems, and comfort operating in production.
• Experience with Git‑based workflows and CI/CD.
• Excellent communication skills and a track record of technical leadership, design ownership, and mentoring.

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience with stream processing (Apache Flink, Kafka Streams, or similar) and stateful streaming patterns.
• Deep experience with graph databases (ArangoDB, Neo4j) for correlation/relationship modeling.
• Familiarity with B2B integration protocols (AS2, SFTP, API‑based) and trading‑partner onboarding.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code and CI/CD pipeline ownership.
• Background in supply chain, logistics, or B2B/EDI SaaS.
