Job summary

Empower Global Business Services India Private Limited seeks an accomplished Senior Engineering Leader to guide multiple software teams delivering customer-facing digital experiences, including the corporate website and sales platforms.

You will partner with Marketing, Product, Design, Content, and Sales to translate business objectives into scalable technology roadmaps and measurable outcomes, while driving AI initiatives and modern web architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience/training.
• 15+ years of software engineering, application development, or related tech experience.
• 5+ years of people leadership, hiring and building teams.
• Experience leading several software engineering teams through managers.
• Proven track record with customer-facing websites, digital marketing platforms, or high-visibility web products.
• Strong experience with CMS, content-driven web architectures.
• Strong understanding of modern web eng., APIs, cloud, CI/CD, testing, observability, security, accessibility, SEO, analytics, reliability and performance.
• Experience partnering with Marketing, Product, Design, Content, Sales to set priorities and deliver outcomes.
• Experience applying AI/Generative AI to digital products, content ops, marketing workflows, or engineering productivity.
• Strong tech foundation to guide architecture while working through managers/architects.

What You Will Do

• Lead multiple software engineering teams responsible for customer-facing digital experiences, including the corporate website, customized participant web experiences, and sales demonstration platforms.
• Serve as the senior engineering leader for Digital Marketing, partnering with Marketing, Product Management, Design, Content, Sales, Architecture, Security, and other business and technology stakeholders.
• Define and execute technology strategies and roadmaps for digital marketing platforms, balancing business priorities with modernization, reliability, performance, security, accessibility, scalability, and technical debt.
• Provide engineering leadership for modern web platforms, including enterprise Content Management Systems (CMS), reusable web components, scalable content publishing, and Digital Asset Management (DAM) capabilities.
• Partner with Marketing and Product Management to translate customer, brand, content, and business objectives into scalable technology solutions, engineering priorities, and measurable outcomes.
• Identify and drive opportunities to apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI to digital experiences, content operations, search, personalization, marketing workflows, automation, and engineering productivity.
• Direct the software development lifecycle, including architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, modernization, and production support.
• Deliver business and technology priorities through engineering managers and senior technical leaders, establishing clear accountability, effective engineering practices, and predictable delivery.
• Lead prioritization across multiple engineering teams and stakeholder groups, communicating status, risks, dependencies, tradeoffs, and investment requirements to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Establish engineering standards and measurable outcomes for software delivery, quality, website performance, availability, reliability, customer experience, and organizational health.
• Oversee organizational design, workforce planning, hiring, vendor strategy, capacity planning, and budget management for assigned engineering teams.
• Develop engineering managers and senior technical leaders through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and expanded leadership opportunities.
• Make decisions related to hiring, compensation, employee performance, development, discipline, and other responsibilities associated with senior people leadership.
• Build a high-performing engineering culture centered on customer impact, accountability, collaboration, quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of professional experience and/or training.
• 15+ years of software engineering, application development, product engineering, or related technology experience.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience, including responsibility for hiring, developing, evaluating, and leading engineering teams.
• Demonstrated experience leading multiple software engineering teams through engineering managers or other people leaders.
• Significant experience leading engineering for customer-facing websites, digital experiences, digital marketing platforms, eCommerce, digital publishing, or other high-visibility web products.
• Strong experience with enterprise Content Management Systems (CMS) and content-driven web architectures.
• Strong understanding of modern web engineering, APIs, cloud platforms, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, security, accessibility, SEO, analytics, reliability, and performance.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with Marketing, Product Management, Design, Content, Sales, and other business stakeholders to establish priorities and deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to translate marketing and product objectives into scalable engineering strategies and technology roadmaps.
• Experience applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Generative AI to digital products, content operations, marketing workflows, search, personalization, automation, or engineering productivity.
• Strong software engineering foundation and technical credibility to guide architecture and engineering decisions while operating primarily through engineering managers, architects, and senior engineers.
• Experience with organizational design, workforce planning, budgeting, performance management, and succession planning.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, executive presence, emotional intelligence, and ability to influence across technical and business organizations.
• Strong customer and business orientation with demonstrated ability to connect engineering decisions to measurable customer and business outcomes.

What Will Set You Apart

• Experience with Drupal or comparable enterprise CMS platforms; Drupal experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms and modern content publishing workflows.
• Experience in Financial Services, Retirement Services, FinTech, Insurance, or another regulated industry.
