Job summary

A leading listed IT Service and Technology company in Chennai seeks a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to steer the finance function through the next growth phase. You will lead equity fundraising, manage banking relations and working capital, and ensure robust financial controls and public-company compliance.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years of senior finance leadership experience, preferably in a listed technology or EPC-related business, and proven ability to interact with investors,

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of raising equity capital from institutional investors, mutual funds, PE/VC funds, family offices, or other financial investors.
  • Strong experience in banking relationships and negotiations around BGs, LCs, overdrafts, working-capital limits, and other credit facilities.
  • Prior experience as CFO, Finance Director, VP Finance, or equivalent senior finance leadership role is preferred; listed-company experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in technology, system integration, infrastructure, EPC, or project-driven businesses advantageous.
  • Experience in B2G / government contracting is an added advantage.
  • Comfortable interacting with investors, bankers, auditors, regulators, Board members, and senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with potential equity investors, institutional investors, mutual funds, private equity funds, family offices, and other financial investors.
  • Lead and manage equity fundraising initiatives, including preparation of financial models, business plans, valuations, investor presentations and due diligence requirements
  • Manage investor relationships and communicate the company’s growth and financial performance, while advising the Management and Board on suitable capital sources and structures.
  • Lead coordination with merchant bankers, legal advisors and auditors for fundraising/capital-market transactions, while optimizing the company’s capital structure and cost of capital.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions; negotiate banking terms and facilities.
  • Drive efficient cash-flow, receivables, payables, billing, collections, and working-capital management.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, reporting, and financial modelling to support strategic business decisions.
  • Provide the CEO and Board with insights on project profitability, cash flows, commercial viability, working capital, and financial risks.
  • Strengthen internal controls, approval mechanisms, and financial checks across procurement, payments, projects, inventory, and receivables.

Job summary

A leading Listed IT Company is keen to hire a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the finance function and drive the company’s next phase of growth. The role will focus on capital raising, banking and financial negotiations, working-capital optimization, and strengthening the company’s financial position. The CFO will also ensure robust financial controls and compliance with public-company regulatory requirements.

About the company

A leading listed IT service and Technology company delivering solutions across Education, Defence, Surveillance, and Smart Utilities, with a strong focus on government and institutional projects. The business has scaled to 250+ employees and reported ~₹688 Cr revenue in FY25. With a strong presence in the B2B and institutional markets, the company undertakes complex technology and infrastructure projects for enterprise and government customers.

Roles and responsibilities

2. Banking & Working Capital Management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions.
  • Negotiate and optimize Bank Guarantee (BG), Letter of Credit (LC), overdraft, working-capital, and other banking facilities
  • Negotiate competitive banking terms and optimize working-capital limits in line with project and growth requirements.
  • Drive efficient cash-flow, receivables, payables, billing, collections, and working-capital management.
3. Financial Planning & Business Partnering
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, reporting, and financial modelling to support strategic business decisions.
  • Provide the CEO and Board with insights on project profitability, cash flows, commercial viability, working capital, and financial risks.
  • Strengthen internal controls, approval mechanisms, and financial checks across procurement, payments, projects, inventory, and receivables.
  • Drive cost optimization, minimize financial leakages, and foster financial discipline and accountability across functions.
5. Listed Company Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, accurate financial reporting, statutory disclosures, and adherence to SEBI, Companies Act, accounting, and taxation requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Board, Audit Committee, auditors, Company Secretary, and advisors on governance, audits, disclosures, investor communication, and regulatory matters.
6. B2G / Government Business
  • Support the financial and commercial aspects of the company’s B2G and government-facing business, including tender participation, contractual requirements, performance guarantees, payment structures, and workingcapital implications.
  • Lead and develop a high-performance finance team with strong processes, systems, controls, and accountability.
  • Partner with the CEO, Board, business and project teams, auditors, bankers, and advisors to drive a strategic, commercially focused finance function.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven track record of raising equity capital from institutional investors, mutual funds, PE/VC funds, family offices, or other financial investors.
  • Strong and demonstrable experience in banking relationships and negotiations, particularly around BGs, LCs, overdrafts, working-capital limits, and other credit facilities.
  • Prior experience as CFO, Finance Director, VP Finance, or equivalent senior finance leadership role is preferred. Experience in a publicly listed company is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in technology, system integration, infrastructure, engineering, EPC, or project-driven businesses will be an advantage.
  • Experience in B2G / government contracting will be an added advantage.
  • Should be comfortable interacting with investors, bankers, auditors, regulators, Board members, and senior management.
