Job summary

DigitalXNode is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer in India to design, deploy, and manage containerized applications. You will work with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Linux systems in enterprise environments, driving automation with Ansible, Python, and Shell scripting.

This remote role supports multiple engagement models including full-time, part-time, and contract-based arrangements. Ideal candidates have extensive hands-on OpenShift/Kubernetes, strong Bash scripting, and experience with CI/CD

Qualifications

• 3-4+ years in OpenShift/Kubernetes cluster administration, deployments, networking, and storage.
• 2-3+ years developing Ansible playbooks, roles, and automation workflows.
• 2-3 years of Python scripting and automation experience.
• 4-5 years of Bash/Shell scripting experience.
• Strong Linux system administration experience.
• Knowledge of VMware is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

On behalf of our India-based client in the Telecommunications Technology sector, we are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong, hands‑on expertise in OpenShift and Kubernetes to design, deploy, and manage containerized applications in enterprise production environments. The role involves automation using Ansible, Python, and Shell scripting, along with Linux system administration, cluster operations, and platform reliability engineering. This remote position is available under multiple engagement models, including full‑time employment, part‑time assignments, and contract‑based arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

Required Skills

• OpenShift & Kubernetes: have worked for 3-4+ years and has firm grip on cluster administration, deployments, networking, and storage
• Ansible: 2-3+ years developing playbooks, roles, and automation workflows
• Python: 2-3 years of scripting and automation experience
• Shell Scripting: 4-5 years of strong Bash/Shell scripting experience
• Linux: Strong hands‑on experience with system administration
• Virtualization: Knowledge of VMware is a strong advantage

Good to Have

• Exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
• Demonstrated work on monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
• Conceptual knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
• Infrastructure as Code exposure (Terraform is a plus)

AI Experience

• Familiarity with AI‑assisted monitoring, log analysis, or anomaly‑detection tools is a plus
• Exposure to AI copilots (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) for scripting and automation support
• Interest in applying AI‑driven automation to cluster operations and incident response

Managerial Experience

• This is an individual contributor role; candidates should demonstrate strong ownership and the ability to work closely with application, infrastructure, and CI/CD teams

Operational Experience

• Experience with end‑to‑end platform operations: cluster upgrades, patching, monitoring, and performance tuning
• Experience troubleshooting production issues across containers, infrastructure, and automation layers
• Experience maintaining operational runbooks, documentation, and standards
• Familiarity with security best practices for containerized and virtualized environments

Experience

• Minimum 8 Years of total experience with 3 to 4 years hands on in OpenShift/Kubernetes
• 2 to 3 Years in Python
• 4 to 5 Years in Shell Scripting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree (any specialization)
• Minimum 8 years of total experience, including hands‑on OpenShift/Kubernetes and automation experience
• Ability to work independently in production environments as part of a remote, distributed team

Certifications (Preferred, Not Mandatory)

• Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration, or equivalent
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or similar
• Any relevant cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) certification is a plus
