Bottomline is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer in the Cyber Fraud and Risk Management (CFRM) segment.
The Role
We are the Cyber Fraud and Risk Management (CFRM) segment at Bottomline. Our team works on major projects that are strategic for our customers, helping them to stop a cyber fraud crime before it happens. We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer, a subject matter expert in DevOps and a problem solver.
How You Will Contribute
- Lead the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of live production applications serving high-profile corporate customers, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
- Architect and enhance deployment automation, monitoring, logging and alerting infrastructure, driving improvements in reliability and performance.
- Identify and implement AI-driven automation opportunities across DevOps, observability, and incident management.
- Serve as a technical mentor, guiding junior engineers, reviewing code and configurations, and helping unblock complex technical challenges.
- Evaluate and introduce emerging DevOps tools, frameworks, and best practices to keep the team at the forefront of industry standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Support, and Security teams to deliver end-to-end solutions and resolve complex infrastructure, automation, and operational issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or similar roles, with a proven track record in complex, production-grade environments.
- Strong hands‑on experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, and tools such as Kustomize, Helm, Argo CD. Ability to design production‑ready clusters.
- Proficiency with at least one programming/scripting language (Python, Bash, or similar) and strong software engineering fundamentals.
- Advanced experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in Linux‑based operating systems and systems administration.
- Proficiency in infrastructure‑as‑code and configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent).
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Experience building AI agents, workflows, or automation that support DevOps and operational tasks.
- Experience designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI, including advanced branching, deployment strategies, and automated testing.
- Strong Git expertise, including branching strategies and workflow optimization.
- Hands‑on experience with search and analytics platforms such as Elasticsearch or OpenSearch Stack.
- In‑depth knowledge of observability and monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, etc.).
- Experience with configuring SSO using SAML / OIDC.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence decisions and drive consensus across teams.
- Experience mentoring and enabling less experienced engineers.
