Job summary

Recrew AI in Bengaluru seeks an experienced DevOps/Infrastructure Engineer to own the full infrastructure lifecycle from non-prod to production across a distributed system handling 100K+ RPS and 20K+ events per second on self-managed Kafka.

You will codify infrastructure, drive 99.99% uptime, and build internal tooling enabling 150+ microservice teams to deploy independently with frequent production deployments.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of experience in a DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering role.
• Production-grade expertise with Kubernetes for container orchestration at scale.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and Ansible (or Chef/Puppet).
• Proficiency in scripting for automation using any scripting language.
• Working knowledge of Go, Python, or Java for tooling and infrastructure automation.
• Operational experience with self-managed databases: MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, and/or Kafka.
• B.Tech./B.E. in Computer Science or equivalent engineering degree/experience.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end infrastructure across non-prod and production environments, including self-managed databases (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka).
• Codify and version-control all infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible (or Chef/Puppet), ensuring reproducibility and auditability.
• Design and maintain Kubernetes-based container orchestration at scale, supporting 150+ microservices across Go, Java, and Node stacks.
• Build internal developer tooling and CI/CD pipelines that enable product teams to deploy services independently, with hundreds of continuous deployments to production daily.
• Drive observability initiatives - metrics, logging, tracing - across the full stack to proactively detect and resolve reliability issues.
• Architect for resiliency, security, and availability to maintain 99.99%+ uptime across edge gateways handling 100K+ RPS.
• Evangelize DevOps principles across engineering teams, breaking down silos between infrastructure, platform, and product functions.

Position Overview

This role owns the full infrastructure lifecycle - from non-prod to production - across a distributed system handling 100K+ RPS and 20K+ events per second on self-managed Kafka. The engineer will codify infrastructure, drive 99.99% uptime, and build internal tooling that enables 150+ microservice teams to deploy independently. Scope is split equally between platform reliability (resiliency, availability, observability) and developer productivity (CI/CD pipelines, self-serve deployment tooling).

Must Have Criteria
