Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior DevOps and Infrastructure Engineer to join the SW Infra Cloud Infrastructure Team. You will work across OpenStack components on a heterogeneous hybrid cloud supporting NVIDIA products and developers worldwide.

Lead OpenStack operations, implement robust automation with AI DevOps tools, and collaborate with global SREs and engineers to accelerate deployments and ensure reliable, scalable cloud services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of relevant experience supporting OpenStack with Ironic.
• Thorough understanding of PXE process, including host configuration, VLANs and network cabling.
• Knowledge of PXE boot components like DHCP, TFTP, HTTP and iSCSI for troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with OpenStack services and their interactions (Nova, Neutron, Glance, Cinder, Ironic).
• Proficiency with AI DevOps tools and Python coding.

Responsibilities

• Support OpenStack operations and OpenStack services in cloud environments.
• Develop and support OpenStack-based operations, monitoring, troubleshooting and triage.
• Collaborate with SRE, PaaS, image and infra engineers to plan product launches.

NVIDIA is looking for a Senior DevOps and Infrastructure Engineer to work in SW Infra Cloud Infrastructure Team. SW Infra is a global organization within NVIDIA. This group works with various other groups within NVIDIA such as Graphics Processors, Mobile Processors, Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Driverless Cars to cater to their infrastructure needs. These cloud services provide almost half a million automated jobs per day on thousands of servers helping with the productivity of thousands of NVIDIA's software engineers worldwide. What You'll Be Doing

• Support OpenStack Team Operations queue working within our Infrastructure and Cloud Operations Environments.
• Develop and support OpenStack Services and Cloud based operations, monitoring, troubleshooting and assisting triage and resolution of bugs, and KPI investigations.
• Work closely with world-class SRE, PaaS, Image and Infrastructure engineers, architects, technical product managers and application developers to support code development and setting the best strategies in place for a product launch.
• Solve sophisticated problems involving multi-site OpenStack Regional Deployments supporting NVIDIA products.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including system engineering, software engineering, mechanical/thermal engineering, operations, data center teams, external vendors, and other partners to successfully deliver a reliable and robust platform from concept to deployments.
• Directly contribute to the overall quality of deployments and improve time to market for next gen products.

What We Need To See

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of relevant experience supporting Openstack with Ironic.
• Thorough understanding of the PXE process, including host configuration (BIOS and network card), general network configurations such as VLANs, switch port settings, and cabling.
• Knowledge of services involved in PXE booting, such as DHCP (DNSMASK), TFTP, HTTP, and ISCSI, essential for troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with OpenStack services and their interactions, including nova, nova placement, Neutron, Glance, Cinder, and Ironic.
• Ability to troubleshoot across different OpenStack applications, comprehend the OpenStack deployment process, and understand service dependencies and order of operations.
• Proficiency in using AI DevOps Tools, Python coding.
• Expertise in supporting third-party services like MySQL, RabbitMQ, CEPH, HaProxy, and Keepalived.
• Ability to use tools such as Ansible, Gitlab, Jenkins, Grafana, DataDog and Elastic Search for successful system configuration and maintenance.

Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd

• Experience with Openstack Ironic, ML2 and Baremetal provisioning
• Familiarity working in large scale R&D/QA environments, for product bring ups.
• Experience with running OpenStack in Containerized Environment
• Background with Linux, RHEL, Anisible, Bash and Python.
• Familiarity with Jenkins, Ansible and REST APIs.
