Qualifications

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Developer – Adobe Commerce Frontend based in India.

As a Senior Adobe Commerce Frontend Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance e-commerce experiences using Adobe Commerce (Magento). You will take ownership of frontend architecture, theme customization, responsive interfaces, and user-facing components while ensuring scalability and reliability. Beyond traditional Magento development, you will have the opportunity to contribute to modern storefronts built with React.js and Next.js, as well as headless and composable commerce solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate frontend applications with APIs, backend services, and middleware platforms. AI-assisted development will be an integral part of your workflow, helping you accelerate coding, debugging, testing, and technical problem-solving. This role is ideal for an experienced developer who combines strong Magento expertise with an interest in modern web technologies and innovative engineering practices.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, customize, and maintain scalable Adobe Commerce (Magento) frontend applications, ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Build and maintain Magento themes, layouts, templates, UI components, and responsive user interfaces that deliver seamless shopping experiences.
• Develop and enhance modern storefront applications using React.js and Next.js where required.
• Integrate frontend applications with commerce platforms, REST APIs, and backend services to ensure smooth data exchange and functionality.
• Contribute to middleware and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) services, headless commerce implementations, and composable commerce integrations.
• Develop and maintain frontend components using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, LESS, and KnockoutJS.
• Apply frontend architecture principles and responsive design practices to deliver consistent experiences across devices and platforms.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools, including Claude and Claude Code, to accelerate code generation, debugging, refactoring, test creation, technical investigation, and documentation.
• Review, validate, test, and secure AI-generated code to ensure code quality, maintainability, and production readiness.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and relevant stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-quality e-commerce solutions.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience, preferably in frontend engineering and e-commerce development.
• Strong, hands-on expertise in Magento UI and Adobe Commerce frontend development. This is a mandatory requirement.
• Advanced knowledge of JavaScript and practical experience building and customizing complex frontend applications.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and LESS for developing responsive and maintainable user interfaces.
• Good hands-on experience with KnockoutJS and Magento frontend architecture.
• Solid understanding of Magento themes, layouts, templates, UI components, frontend customization, and responsive design principles.
• Familiarity with frontend integration patterns, APIs, and backend services.
• Experience with React.js, Next.js, Node.js, and TypeScript is a strong advantage.
• Exposure to Edge Delivery Services (EDS), Adobe Commerce SaaS (ACCS), headless commerce, composable commerce, and middleware or BFF development is desirable.
• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and Claude Code, with the ability to critically review, test, debug, and validate AI-generated code.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
• A proactive, analytical, and quality-oriented approach to problem-solving and software development.
• A consistent professional track record and demonstrated employment stability.
• Immediate availability is preferred. Candidates with a notice period of up to 15–20 days will also be considered.
