Job summary

Air Liquide is seeking a Senior Instrumentation Designer in India to drive detailed design and layout activities using SP3D and other tools. The role reports to the Discipline Project Lead Engineer and focuses on delivering work within schedule, cost and quality constraints for EPC projects across Oil & Gas, Energy, Refining, and Petrochemicals.

The candidate should have ITI/Diploma in Instrumentation and 5+ years of relevant experience, with strong interaction across disciplines and vendors.

Qualifications

• ITI/Diploma in Instrumentation engineering required.
• Experience in EPC or detail design for Oil & Gas, Energy, Refining, Petrochemicals.
• Designer with 5+ years experience.

Responsibilities

• Modeling and layout detail design work related to discipline specific deliverables.
• Generates layouts, installation drawings, MTOs based on engineering workflow.
• Checking drawings and MTOs; review of vendor drawings for plant design.
• Communicates status and progress of project schedule deliverables; records and communicates changes to original scope; contributes to Change Management.

Job Description:

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Senior designer is part of the hierarchical organization, reporting directly to the Head of the Department as direct discipline superior. In a project execution environment, the primary responsibility of the designer is to efficiently execute the work packages using the applicable design tools and assist the Discipline Project Lead Engineer to deliver the work within contractual framework, quality, schedule and overall cost effectiveness, in order to meet the overall project desired results.

General

• Ensuring quality of design as per job manual & QA checklist requirements
• Proven ability to execute within the Project time-lines and work with least supervision.
• Demonstrate expertise for modeling using various 3D tools, like SP3D, etc and takes ownership and sense of responsibility to deliver within the project time schedule.
• Modeling and layout detail design work related to discipline specific deliverables
• Generates various layouts, installation drawings, MTOs based on the engineering discipline workflow.
• Checking drawings and MTOs.
• Review of vendor drawings related to plant design..

HSE, QA/QC

• Executes applicable scope of work in compliance with the requirements of the HSE Management System and IMS for the discipline/project.
• Ensures that the documentation is prepared, checked and approved according to Project Quality Plan.

PROJECT CONTROL / COORDINATION

• Communicates to the Lead Engineer status and progress of project’s schedule deliverables.
• Communicates man-hour spent.
• Records and communicates all changes to original scope.
• Contributes to Change Management.

DOMAIN KNOWLEDGE

• Experience in detail design engineering including Instrument Hookups,cable schedule, Drum schedule, Instrument cable tray routing plans, Tray sizing,, Junction box grouping , Layout engineering , Modeling of Trays, supports, junction boxes, panels, field instruments , Air manifolds, and other instrumentation items in SP3D environment , 2D layout extraction from SP3D model , MCT block diagram , participate in model reviews, and generation of Bulk MTO
• Expertise in the wiring model and loop module of Smartplant instrumentation tool
• Control room layout design.
• Checking of Installation layouts , Bulk Material list.
• Effective Communication skills with proactive coordination to manage interdisciplinary workflow.
• Ability to identify cost optimization opportunities during project execution .
• Tool proficiency - SmartPlant 3D - SP3D ,SPR, Navis work, Microstation , Smart Plant instrumentation (SPI) all modules , Auto-CAD
