Padcare Labs in Pune seeks a Senior Design and Development Engineer to drive hardware innovation. You will own product design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing, using strong CAD skills and hands-on fabrication knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering or Masters in Mechanical Engineering.
• 46 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Experience in team handling and project execution.
• Experience coordinating with vendors or manufacturing teams.
• SolidWorks proficiency is essential; CAD modeling skills required.
• Knowledge of design for manufacturing (turning, milling, welding, sheet metal).
• Hands-on prototyping, lifecycle management, and regulatory awareness.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and BOMs.

Job description

The Senior Design and Development Engineer will play a key role in driving PadCares hardware innovation by taking ownership of product design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing. The role requires strong CAD skills, hands-on fabrication knowledge, and a deep understanding of engineering principles to deliver high-quality sustainable products that align with PadCares mission.

• Create accurate 3D CAD models, detailed part and assembly drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM) to support manufacturing and assembly.
• Lead the end‑to‑end product development cycle from ideation and prototyping to manufacturing and field implementation.
• Take responsibility for team handling and effective execution of projects.
• Analyze and optimize existing designs for improved performance, cost‑efficiency, and sustainability.
• Develop functional prototypes, conduct product testing, and incorporate user feedback into iterative improvements.
• Provide on‑ground support during product development, trials, and implementation as required.
• Plan and manage design projects including timeline, budget, and workflow tracking.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and cross‑functional teams to brainstorm and implement innovative product solution
