Job summary

Atlas Copco in Pune, India seeks a design and development specialist with 5+ years in SPM, automation and fixture design. You will create concept designs, approval layouts, and manufacturing drawings, perform calculations, and validate selections like pneumatic cylinders and motors. Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD with Windchill PDM Link is required; GD&T experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in SPM, Automation and Fixture design.
• Hands-on conceptual design, approval layouts, and manufacturing drawings creation.
• Perform design calculations and validations.
• Selection and validation of pneumatic cylinders, motors, gearboxes.
• GD&T knowledge required.
• SolidWorks and AutoCAD proficiency; Windchill PDM Link familiarity; optional Solid Edge/Creo.
• Project management skills and ability to engage with international customers.

Responsibilities

• Study project inputs and collect data from internal stakeholders.
• Conduct project kickoff meetings with internal stakeholders.
• Freeze scope of work and create tentative delivery schedule with hour estimates.
• Create concepts with calculations and validations using checklists.
• Conduct internal design reviews and update status sheets daily.
• Maintain quality standards and deliver error-free outputs on the first attempt.
• Collaborate effectively as a good team player.

Your role

• You will handle projects for design and development, interact with Team leaders, technical leader internal and external stake holders, inter team communication and present & discuss the concepts and final designs with supporting/required calculations.
• You will be responsible for creating Approval layouts and final manufacturing drawings along with final release package and documentation for project.

Your Roles And Responsibilities

• Study the project inputs and collect data from Internal stakeholders.
• Conduct or be a part of project kick off meeting with internal stakeholders.
• Freeze the scope of work and create tentative delivery schedule along with estimate for hours.
• Create concept/concepts along with necessary calculation and validations by using checklists.
• Conduct internal concept/design reviews.
• Update status sheets daily.
• Conduct quality checks of self and / or team’s output to ensure adherence to defined quality standards.
• Deliver error-free outputs — “FIRST TIME RIGHT”
• Should be having good interpersonal skills and should be good team player.

What we expect of you?

Preferred Skills And Knowledge

• Experience- 5 + years’ experience in SPM, Automation, Fixture design.

Experience in tightening solution designs is an added advantage.

• Design Skills- Hands on experience of conceptual design, Approval layout, manufacturing drawings creation is must.

Performing design calculations is required.

Hands on experience of Selection and validation of pneumatic cylinders, electrical motors, gear box.

Good Experience Of GD And T Application Is Required.

• CAD Software- Hands on experience on SolidWorks (Solid modelling and 2D detailing) and Auto-CAD. (Solid Edge and Creo is an added advantage)
• PLM Software- Hands-on experience on Windchill PDM Link (WGM) will be an added advantage
• Project Management - Should be having good project management skills.
• Communication Skills- prior experience in engaging with international customers will be an added advantage.
