Senior Design & Project Coordinator shall report to the Project Director / Project Head and serve as the PMC's lead for design management, engineering coordination and technical integration across the airport development programme. The role shall be responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary design consultants, review teams, contractors and package managers to ensure timely delivery of design deliverables, prioritization of construction-driven GFC drawings, resolution of engineering interfaces, incorporation of site requirements, statutory compliance, operational requirements and constructability considerations into the design process. The role shall act as the primary interface between design and construction teams, ensuring that design development, approvals and engineering decisions support project objectives and do not adversely impact project schedule, cost, quality, safety, operational readiness or overall project delivery. The position shall also represent the PMC on matters related to design reviews, contractor submittals, construction methodologies, material approvals and technical compliance.
Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design activities across terminal, airside, landside, utility and airport support facility packages. Establish, maintain and monitor the Design Deliverables Register, Design Approval Tracker, Design Interface Matrix and Design Risk Register. Coordinate with Design Consultants and Review Teams to ensure timely submission, review and approval of design deliverables. Prioritize and monitor delivery of GFC drawings in line with construction priorities and programme requirements. Ensure design deliverables are complete, coordinated, buildable and aligned with project execution requirements.
Manage interfaces between architecture, structural, civil, MEP, utility, airport systems, airside and landside disciplines. Coordinate incorporation of site observations, operational requirements, statutory comments and construction feedback into design development. Ensure design interfaces are resolved proactively to avoid delays, rework and construction disruptions. Facilitate timely closure of design conflicts, technical issues and engineering queries. Support value engineering, constructability reviews and engineering optimization initiatives.
Act as the primary technical liaison between construction teams and design consultants. Review contractor submittals related to construction methodologies, temporary works, contractor designs, material approvals and technical proposals. Coordinate resolution of RFIs, technical clarifications, design deficiencies and site engineering issues. Ensure timely resolution of engineering matters that may impact project schedule, cost, quality or safety. Monitor implementation of approved design revisions and change management procedures.
Ensure compliance with DGCA, ICAO, BCAS, AAI, NBC, BIS, environmental and other applicable statutory requirements. Coordinate closure of comments from review consultants, regulatory authorities and stakeholders. Ensure designs satisfy operational, safety, maintainability, sustainability and future expansion requirements. Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure design deliverables support quality objectives and project requirements. Promote design solutions that enhance constructability, safety, operational efficiency and long-term asset performance.
Monitor design progress against project schedules and identify potential risks and mitigation measures. Maintain design dashboards, action trackers, approval matrices and interface registers. Prepare executive reports, technical updates and management dashboards for Project Leadership and Client reviews. Support project governance, technical reviews, decision-making processes and stakeholder consultations.
