Responsibilities

• Performance tuning
• Software installation, configuration, database patching and upgrading
• Troubleshoot various issues with another DBA’s / developers
• Point of contact for vendor escalation
• Ensure project documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately
• Identify potential security issues and recommend strategies to ensure database security
• Proactively monitor systems for optimum performance and capacity constraints
• Establish standards and best practices for database implementation and operations
• Perform database backup and recovery
• Provide 24x7 support for enterprise database systems

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on DBA experience with Cassandra or other big database technology
• Strong experience with Linux is required, including command line editors, scripting (shell, Python, Perl, etc.)
• Experience in Elastic Search
• Experience in database and cross-platform upgrades
• Must have knowledge of network connectivity
• Knowledge of ServiceNow, or similar Ticket Management Software
• Knowledge of SAN infrastructure
• Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills

Nice-to-have

• Experience in public cloud (AWS)
• Good knowledge of Data Modeling
• Knowledge of MariaDB
