Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our world‑class Database Engineering organization. This team is responsible for the development and maintenance of a suite of industry‑leading database performance monitoring and related applications. These products improve the quality of life for database professionals by providing best‑in‑class performance monitoring and productivity solutions across multiple database platforms, whether in the cloud or on‑prem.

This position will be ideal for you if you enjoy building enterprise solutions that are architected for high scale, reliability, security, and performance, are adept at developing upon requirements through delivery to impact customers on a global scale, and are also able to upskill the engineering organization by example. You should be excited to work with multiple tech stacks, solving complicated problems on multiple products and platforms.

In this role, you will technically lead the development of our existing industry‑leading solutions and help define the future of database capabilities on our Database Performance Analyzer product.

Responsibilities

Contribute to system and software design discussions, focusing on low‑level design and implementation of complex features.
Develop, test, and deliver high‑quality, efficient, and maintainable code for product features and enhancements.
Build proof of concepts and convert them into production‑ready solutions, leveraging new database capabilities.
Participate in design and code reviews to ensure quality, performance, and consistency across the product.
Collabore with peers to identify and implement improvements that enhance product scalability, reliability, and performance.
Work closely with the Engineering Manager, Architect, and other engineers to translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and implementation plans.
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing features to fix bugs, improve performance, and maintainability.
Stay current with emerging technologies and tools relevant to database systems and software engineering best practices.
Contribute to maintaining a strong engineering culture by following best practices in coding, testing, and design documentation.
Investigate and resolve customer issues in production environments to ensure product stability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of industry experience, or Master’s degree with 4+ years of industry experience.
Independently develops complex features through multiple layers (frontend, backend)
Drives the problem from its definition to successful completion on her own
Experience with DevOps principles is a plus
Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience driving teams forward and the ability to influence technical decisions to line up with the company’s strategy.
